Atlanta police have house surrounded in connection to New Orleans jailbreak
Derrick Groves escaped from New Orleans jail in May with 9 other inmates and is the last inmate that hasn't been captured.
I remember laughing at the stories implying he was cross dressing.
I guess I just have an appreciation for underdog stories.

After all of this time he was STILL in the US? I know it requires planning and some level of monetary support, but got damn all these cats were captured within miles of the prison. Nobody though to dip across the border? Wouldn't it be better to be poor and grinding in Mexico than back in a nasty ass Louisiana prison

NYC would’ve been good… literally finding out a lot of crazy people that get caught doing crimes in the city ain’t even from ny.. they had 2 homeless nigs battle each other and 1 killed the other.. they both were from out of state and were both on the run for yrs

He was bound to get caught. Atlanta was likely the farthest from Louisiana where he had a support system. I’m seeing quotes expecting him to leave the country and go to Cuba. How would he leave? Is he sophisticated enough to get a fake passport and documents? To disguise himself to fool customs? How would he make money to survive if he left the country? Especially to go to a 3rd World country where he doesn’t speak the language. Even for laborous jobs, he would have to compete with people who have worked laborous jobs their whole lives for peanuts. He likely didn’t have money, connections or skills to start a business in another country. His most accessible chance of survival depended on the people he knew before he went to prison who were likely criminals themselves. He either had to lean on them for his needs or get access to something where he could generate money for himself(likely illegal). It’s really hard for ex cons to make it in the US when they are released legally and can qualify for government aid. It is much harder for an ex con who is on the run.
I would have posed as a “foreigner” and have ICE catch me.
Give them a fake story that I was from Canada or some other safe country and get myself a free one way deportation out of the country.
ICE right now is focused on deportation and not checking people’s status. Being he is Black, they would have quickly deported him to meet their quotas, no questions asked.
