Standup special so bad that the comedian floats considering suicide afterwards?

I assumed from the “he’s not a standup comic” tweet that this was his debut but apparently he has done it for Netflix before and for Comedy Central.
Stand-up is like boxing when you're bad and unskilled at it, there is nowhere to hide: it's all on you. You will get knocked the fuk out, or in a comedy sense, boo'd the fuk off the stage. On that note, shout to the Apollo's Sandman: he served a cultural purpose.
Taping a standup special is different than doing a regular show. The pressure is on because the comedian is burning (Netflix) money trying to get it right instead of getting paid to show up and tell jokes. Also for specials comedians usually tape more than one performance and edit the best parts, this performance is obviously the dud of the lot.

Accurate. They’ve blurred the lines of comedy and ruined it. Guys go viral THEN become stand-ups. Dudes make videos in their living room and suddenly “on tour” selling more tickets than actual comedians. People send me viral videos of Druski and others and tell me they can’t wait to see them “perform”. Perform WHAT? Yeah, D.C. Young Fly talked about how he had to pay his dues in comedy stand-up on-stage, because he was only a viral comedy doing skits and he was getting all these stand-up gigs. He said that he had to learn the craft of stand-up which was totally different than being social media funny.
Comedians are some of the most depressed people there are, they say. They hide behind comedy.
