Real talk...

I haven't been to a range in a minute cause I don't want deplete my stash. I use a laser trainer which actually fun. Almost thinking of shooting 22 in all formats and deplete that at the range...

What ya'll up too?

Probably hitting the range this weekend. I was going every two weeks, that plan took a shit quickly.

I haven't been to the range in forever. Been trying to build up my wedding/private event DJ business. It's been my main priority so everything else including 2A fun has taken a backseat.

Working on my CCW. I've completed all of the stages except the 16 hour class required for California. I'll be doing that in a few weeks.

Burning through my stash to rotate fresh ammo in. I live in the country, the backyard is my range. Other than that, I have a spare SBR'd lower I'm going to build out with an FRT. I took my red dots off my pistols because I found I shoot better with irons, so I'm going to sell them to fund the FRT and a flow through 30cal suppressor come January. And Im hunting for an old Sig P229 with no rail.

I let mine expire since we have constitutional carry and open carry. Only downside is without an enhanced carry permit there are places I cant carry like college campuses or churches, but I never go to those places anyway. As far as reciprocity the only state I travel to is Texas. So thats a non-issue.

There are plenty of cities/counties in California where the police or sheriffs will not even issue a CCW. So if you can get it here, you should.

California also doesn't have any reciprocity with any state currently. And, there are so many places where you can't carry your weapon that it's almost a must that you have one of those car safes/cable safes.

Paperwork approved...ETA 1 week

I'm very curious to see how the anti-2A/gun reform crowd responds to the latest news of a "high powered bolt-action rifle" being recovered at the scene of the Charlie Kirk murder. Bolt-action rifles definitely don't fit their typical narrative as they always think ARs are more powerful and accurate which couldn't be further from the truth. If I had to assume what caliber it was, I'd probably guess it was a 308.

We're thinking along the same lines. I was thinking that it was either a .270, .308 or a 6.5 creedmore. Not to be morbid but a 7mm Mag, .30-06 or .300WM would have probably taken his head off.

AR's are not as precise out of the gate as a bolt-action is. AR's are like bowie knives, where bolt-actions are like scalpels.

Exactly! No AR will ever be as accurate as a bolt-action. Too many moving parts no matter how much you try to install stabilizing components.

And regular shooters are not going to hit the target at 200yds without practice...it was a hit, plain and simple and another distraction made by the current administration and Baby Nutinnyahoo

Definitely not a novice. But based on the alleged pic of the rifle used, it wasn't a professional shooter either. No professional would set up a scope with that magnification level with eye relief set like that nor would a professional have their rings up against the turrets like that.

Yeah your random weekend warrior "go to the range every 4 - 5 months" isnt making that shot like that with a "one shot kill" type accuracy.
Definitely someone who knows how to range on their scope and has a sub MOA quality barrel. The precision calls to either match grade or custom reloaded ammo being used. I'm leaning towards reloaded ammo being used.

I agree, that scope is not set up right. But people set up rifles to fit themselves, not necessarily for normal conventions. I'm saying if that's the rifle used, he's is not a "Pro;" but that doesn't mean homie is lacking in skill.

Also, if the shooter is from Utah, we should remember that there are a lot of people there who grew up around guns all of their lives and they shoot a lot. There's are a lot space for hunting there etc...

200 yards ain't shit for bolt-actions that are at least .270 cals and up.
