I hear you.
I missed this thread, but there’s a lot of good info in here. I appreciate Nawlin for being candid and showing folks what mental health challenges looks like.
Sadly bgol and the gym really are my only “safe” spaces
I just appreciate yall being here when I go thru my episodes
Its more prevalent than ever Black men having self harming thoughts of unaliving themselves. I know 2 cats under 21 and a teenage kid in just my circle that have made attempts. Unfortunately 1 was successful which is heartbreaking to this day. What is causing this rise? Is there something in the food we eat? Are we out of place trying to live in this White man utopia? Is it the loss of so many Black men from your inner circle between incarceration and dying at a young age? Do we feel isolated and alone in this world? Are there frequencies in the music? Is it the distorted view of what's real life between relationships and living life on social media that seems out of reach for most of us. How do we go back to what makes us happy?

I’d rather be considered crazy than soft for having feelings and emotions
I bury myself in my kids but yes I’m tired yes I hurt and yes that’s not a week or day that don’t go by that I don’t think about ending it

#2. It's not your fault. You did nothing to warrant this. It's a chemical imbalance in your brain. Just like people don't ask for diabetes, people don't ask for mental illnesses.
What is your responsibility is to do something about it. When the pain is so bad you think the only answer is to cancel your run, it's very serious and you can't deal with it on your own.
Make no mistake, you don't do it for your children, friends, or family - you do it for you. Otherwise it won't work.
Hang in there. Get help. Believe it or not things do get better.

I’m in a totally better place in life and instead of looking for the bad thing to inevitably come I’m in the mindset that I determine my destiny I have more control than I think but many thanks to you
