In late 2021, prosecutors offered Tory Lanez a four-year plea deal in the case.

Yeah, but that would've been a career killer for him too which is why he didn't take the deal.. Considering he's an artist, he would've been deported and banned from entering the US based on his criminal record. Hindsight is 20/20, he definitely should've testified, that no snitching code got him brainwashed like a lot of dummies out there, and that would've probably been difference maker if he didn't shot that gun.

The prosecution would have destroyed him on the stand.
But had he taken that deal he would have been sent to a lower security prison, never gotten stabbed (or much less likely to have been stabbed), and even with serving 85 percent of his time (less than 3.5 years) would have been out no later than late 2024/early 2025.
That doesn't even include the potential for serving even less time by enrolling in programs that could have knocked his time down more.
