The trial for the man accused of setting up Young Dolph's murder is underway, and the rapper's sister and admitted killer have taken the stand.On Monday (Aug. 18), Hernandez Govan's trial began with opening arguments in Shelby County, Tenn., court. Govan is charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder in connection with Young Dolph's 2021 Memphis killing. Prosecutors say Govan recruited the shooters, Cornelius Smith and Justin Johnson, to carry out the murder after getting word of a $100,000 bounty placed on Dolph's head by Yo Gotti's brother, Anthony "Big Jook" Mims.During Monday's hearing, Erica Thornton, Young Dolph's sister, took the stand as the state's first witness. She said she last spoke to Dolph the day before he died and found out he was killed on the day he was murdered.Cornelius Smith, the admitted shooter whose testimony helped convict Justin Johnson in his trial in 2024, was back on the stand for Govan's trial. He again detailed being recruited by Govan to take out Dolph at the behest of Big Jook. He recounted receiving directions from Govan before and after the shooting, and Govan failing to give Smith a cut of the bounty before Smith was arrested for the crime.

If I'm remembering correctly he's been out on bond for the majority if not all of this time.

Yo Gotti's brother left the area and still got caught while attending a funeral so that should be a sign to dude.
I haven't been keeping up with this trial but it seemed like they had a significant amount if evidence against him so this really is shocking.
I'm wondering if Dolph's estate will be suing Yo Gotti and/or his label along with his brothers estate. Those civil cases are much easier to win.

It's said they only got Big Jook because it was right after the funeral and Gotti wasn't with him.
From what has been said they weren't ever really in the city and therefore hard to catch.

But y'all said a few pages up that gotti and big jook was at the funeral in Memphis which at that point they both were together during that time to pay their respects but could've left their separate ways when jook got shot and killed.
I'm saying they had the perfect opportunity to get Gotti as well if they wanted to.
