He said he was struggling for decades as a stereotypical out of work actor in NY - before he got his break he was couch surfing or living with his various accumalated acting friends and former classmates in LA and NY that were more successful - IIRC he name dropped Oscar Isaac Vanessa Kirby and Sarah Paulson
