2 year old boy dies during dental procedure

Why would a 2 year old be getting caps though? All those teeth are going to fall out in a few years anyway.:confused::confused:
Right.... I had to Google that shit.

A two-year-old might need dental surgery, such as a tooth extraction or other procedure, due to severe tooth decay, infection, or trauma. These issues can cause pain, difficulty eating, and potentially lead to more serious complications if left untreated.

Here's a more detailed explanation:

1. Severe Tooth Decay:
  • Cavities:
Two-year-olds are susceptible to cavities (tooth decay) which can progress rapidly in baby teeth.

  • Impact:
If a cavity is left untreated, it can spread, causing pain, infection, and potentially affecting the development of permanent teeth.

  • Consequences:
In severe cases, the decay may necessitate a pulpotomy (removal of infected pulp) or even extraction of the tooth.

  • Cause:
Poor oral hygiene and a diet high in sugar can contribute to tooth decay.
2. Infection:
  • Abscesses:
Tooth decay can lead to an infection (abscess) around the tooth, causing pain, swelling, and fever.
  • Systemic Spread:
Untreated infections can spread to other parts of the body, making timely intervention crucial

R.I.P little one. Such a sad story.
To slow down the decay process. A tooth infection can lead to heart issues and/or heart attack.
Infection from a rotten tooth can easily enter the blood stream.
If this is the case, I can't imagine how a 2 year old would have such poor dental health/hygiene to the point where they would need caps. I'm not saying the parents are to blame for the kid's death, but how the hell could a two-year old have such bad dental health that would require caps?

Thanks, just saw this after my post.

I used to work with EMS guys. Two things the say you should never do:

1. Speed
2. Go under anesthesia at a dentist. They be fucking people up.

Sometimes it's allowing them to go to sleep with a bottle in their mouths with milk but more especially juice. Some meds cause issues with children's teeth also.
I used to work in a dentist office and would see it.

Yeah, it's crazy how important you dental health is and it's looked at mostly in terms of cosmetics.
My aunt was in the hospital for 2 months due to complications from dental issues.

I doubt she ever went to a dentist in her entire adult life.

Oh I get it, I have three kids, we never let them go to sleep with a milk bottle once they started growing teeth. Same thing with juice, I don't think our kids ever drank juice from a bottle. Sippy cup yes, juice, nope.

Yeah if you get an abscess it's some painful shit. I might post some pics of my trip to St. Vincent. We did a humanitarian trip to do dental work for the locals a few months ago. Lot of teeth pulling.

RIP to the kid.

Ya'll never seen them small kids with a mouth full of silver capped teeth,I have.Once they get capped that's it,the next step dentures.

Man, that’s wild. I had a terrible tooth ache a few years back and got it pulled.‘I started paying more attention to my dental health. I wish I would have paid more attention when I was younger.

There are studies that many Egyptian Pharoahs died from dental cavities that caused abscess and sinus infections.

The dentist sounds shady as fuck for putting caps on a 2 year old. He probably up sells his patients on all kinds of bullshit.
