Philly had 51 churches demolished between 2009 & 2025

I was involved in more than a few of those projects.
Admittedly, i never think about what was, only the money I and my company can make when they tear these buildings down.
I know you know where center city is and the new Piazza Plaza, I watched them tear down blocks when I was on that project.
Yeah, but I'm not religious anymore and I don't go to church anymore, so it doesn't affect me at all. But my childhood church in North Philly got torn down.

I feel like these churches never really helped none but to make these pimp pastors rich.

I agree, especially all these pipes that need to be changed for brand new ones. That's why you always hear a main water break.

I got files for proposed projects in kensington sitting in my office right now, some of them are 10 yrs old, still in the works due to lack of funding or banks not wanting to loan money due to the neighborhood. I have a feeling thats going to change fairly soon.

Philly is a city where money is mismanaged not putting money to improve the city but they want us citizens to keep paying for these high ass taxes to make mayor and most of those crooks in city hall rich.

I grew up jehovah Witness and several of the kingdom halls in North Philly were either sold, repurposed as churches or turned into children's daycare centers.

Demolition of these old school churches doesn't surprise me. Church isn't what it was back in my grandparents day.

Less worshipers means less funds to support the building.

Pulpit pimps got to find a new way to hustle the masses on faith.

Let's not forget covid took a hit on those churches as well. But a lot of people starting to realize and wake up about this religion bullshit to realize our ancestors weren't looking up to no white Jesus in church being spiritual because them CACs slave master forced religion on our ancestors which was passed down to the next generation after next.

Been that way with the politicians for as long as I can remember
