Superman to hit theaters July 11, 2025, marking the start of the DCU - Batman movie THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD/Superman| NEW Official Trailer May 14

I almost forgot how many L's fans took over the last 20 years :D
So I can see why DC fans are hoping this movie does really well
I get it fellas, I get it
DC needed something a little more "fresh, colorful, vibrant, funny & entertaining" to pivot away from earlier failures
So I guess they will use this movie & the Peacemaker tv series to build off of

I always say it aint Superhero fatigue

Its BAD MOVIE fatigue

and to go deeper? I don't even know if WE KNOW what a REALLY bad movie is?

Cause Minecraft was NOT a good movie. But for THAT audience? It was PERFECT.

Deadpool is NOT, I don't give a sh*t what anyone says, it was NOT a good movie. BUT it was PERFECT for THAT audience.

But Transformers One WAS a great movie. No one saw it.

Fall Guy was a FUN movie. No ne saw it

Ballerina was good! But nope.

Even Elio was a NICE kids movie the kind audience CLAIM to want. But nope.

So I really don't know what to say about the AUDIENCE ability to know what it REALLY wants either.
Man you hit the fucking nail on the head!! FOR REAL..

I was like how the hell did minecraft do a billy :eek2: :dunno:

Deadpool has always been so so, although the 1st was very solid! But its like the only Superhero movie thats R rated where it appeals to a demographic..

Transformers one was excellent and was the best movie outside of the very first animation movie; but they messed up with the promotion and they should have never made transformers live action; it should have stayed animation; i think it would have been up there with Toy Story if it would have...

I thought Thunderbolts was better than Cap 4 and actually was a well design movie; but it didnt do numbers; i think it was placed in the wrong slot and should have not been a summer movie

I need to see Ballerina!

For some reason with Pixar, they are having problems promoting their new movies; they dont have issues with their existing movies though; its weird

We have to get out of defining things being good because it makes money!! And that brings us back to Drake lol lol; but yea just because something sells alot(mcdonalds) doesnt mean its good or make it good!!

Imo, it's not just bad movie fatigue. It's about event worthy movies.

It's a different world now than it was even 5 years ago. You know these movies will be streaming in a couple months. So there needs to be a reason to get the audience off the couch and to pay to see your movie.

From your examples, Minecraft? A huge audience of players and the first time it has had a movie made about it (see also Barbie).

Deadpool wasn't the draw - WOLVERINE - yeah people wanted to see that character again.

The rest, it seems like everyone was ok with waiting for it to stream. Add in how expensive it is to go to the movies, and streaming looks even better.

Streaming is a huge factor for sure! And movies just like everything else is so expensive! You are correct; something has to draw the person to see it! Otherwise one will wait…

The numbers are coming in.....
Superman 2025 did pretty decent at the box office this weekend

$123 million domestic (Superman 2025)
$116 million domestic (Man of Steel)

$217 million global (Superman 2023)
$202 million global (Man of Steel)

But the only problem is
What happens in a week & a half when the Fantastic4 movie comes out? :dunno:

All these numbers need to be adjusted for inflation.

Tickets sold should be the metric not gross numbers.

Now the streaming part! We gotta SAVE that for another discussion. You getting too real too fast. Let's stick with this topic but just sprinkle that in.

Okay...

I think we DO live in an era of I'll wait for the stream. Which is a serious problem. We never looked at a big budget release and consider whether it was worthy of being seen in theaters or at home like this

(we need to always acknowledge the pandemic too)

And it IS about bad movie fatigue

The movies were BAD.

but I agree that now going to the movies is considered an EVENT

(we also later need to address ticket & concessions prices and theatre experience)

F1 was and should have been a bigger event movie and made more money

But much like Superman it was Apple Studios lifesaver. And it completed the mission and may start a franchise.

Thunderbolts SHOULD have been an event but it also did the save the reputation thing.

How to Train your Dragon was an EVENT these so called experts didn't expect.

Now that live action franchise is off to a great start.

Megan 2 was supposed to be an EVENT.

UMMM... OKAY.

Ballerina SHOULD have been an event. That could have been incel influenced maybe or your point about streaming. I'm not sure.

Deadpool AND Wolverine was the draw. You better not sleep on how much these fan boys LOVE Ryan Reynolds.

One thing I'll give DC credit for, they aren't reluctant to show black, male genius like Marvel Studios is. The Snyderverse gave us Cyborg and his dad the new Superman gives us Mister Terriific. Marvel Sutdios told T'Challa fans, "Fuck you!" If we wanted evidence of his genius intellect.

I have yo prefix by saying that I didnt watch the movie, I have this thing about refusing to call or refer to any CAC as super evening its all fun in movies and film, to me it still has subliminal implications, similar to worshipping awhite Jesus, but won't hold it against anyone who thinks differently.
But my question is do you think they will bring back Krypto, Super Girl or even Duper Boy once a Super villains like Doomsday or Darkside arrives or will they act like they don't exist?

As I’ve said for yrs on here all you got to do is say was this movie 15-20 bucks worthy.. cause that’s how much movies cost in some states and nigs ain’t trying to take ls watching wack ass movies.. movie sales are down cause a lot of movies ain’t worth the tix price.. that’s why I said some movies are Netflix/ streaming worthy..some shit you watch for free but not something you pay for

Now this loser enters the chat

Who couldnt outsmart a raccoon
Did you see Oppenheimer? There’s always someone smarter than you and ready to take your place.. you literally saw 3 different segments of genius… well the master scientist had found something that was above him in a certain thing

That mad science created ecosystems and upgraded ever so often.. he created Frankenstein raccoon

Uh Oh, so the REAL truth comes out
It actually did worse than Man Of Steel
(pay attention to the 3:08--6:38 mark)
And even worse than Antman Quantumania

I actually thought Minecraft was a good movie. They nailed having Jack Black do it.
All of the kids yelled in unison "Chicken Jockey" in the theater. But for what it was I thought it was well written with the right cast for it.

Respect cuzzo. You are right.

I'm saying when the trailer dropped EVERYONE ESPECIALLY fans sh*t on this movie. But I told everyone... this movie ain't FOR YOU its fir THEM.

Because the baby and all the kids we know? Were begging Uncle Playa to take them.

The internet trashed this movie.

But I heard people who HATED the trailer say they STILL going! I was confused.

Then I went and the kids LOVED it! I mean losing they minds i think I already broke it down in the main thread.

I saw that movie 4 times included chicken jockey version 4DX. They loved it.

It wasn't a GOOD movie. But EVERYONE involved understood the assignment and was this - clear out get out the way and let Jack Black COOK like Julia Child.

It didn't make no type of sense. But the kids didn't want or need all that.

And thats fine.

My point is/was THE ADULTS THE CRITICS THE SO CALLED EXPERTS NEED TO STFU AND UNDERSTAND THAT!

Movies are for certain people and groups and thats fine.

Yeah TECHNICALLY by the rules Minecraft ain't good we can say that. But also give it props for understanding the assignment and its audience.

And after I understood that? I enjoyed the movie.
