Superman to hit theaters July 11, 2025, marking the start of the DCU - Batman movie THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD/Superman| NEW Official Trailer May 14

Exactly. People might have enjoyed all those darker themes, but it's not Superman. That's like making a joking, boy scout Batman movie.

Some people might like it, but it's not true to the Batman character.
If you ever see batman laughing out loud, its because hes been poisoned by the joker or something. This is why Michael Keaton was so good. Dude started out as a comedian.

Superman was letting people and things die in the new Superman everytime he let the justice league intervene is that the real Superman? Calling in favors knowing it was gonna be mass casualties is that Superman? Even when he talking to Lois in the background you can see justice league ready to kill something else is that your Superman?
He never call the justice league in for a favor. They nust happened to be there.

I almost forgot how many L's fans took over the last 20 years :D
So I can see why DC fans are hoping this movie does really well
I get it fellas, I get it
DC needed something a little more "fresh, colorful, vibrant, funny & entertaining" to pivot away from earlier failures
So I guess they will use this movie & the Peacemaker tv series to build off of

They won't be seeing me. I'm not a fan of Suicide Squad or Peacemaker either.

I personally enjoyed it. Superman 2025 was based on different aspects of the actual comics. So it's hilarious to have the some complaining that it wasn't dark and didn't have more destruction or whatever the fuck. Superman's character, with the exception of alternate storylines, has aways been a family friendly character.

The numbers are coming in.....
Superman 2025 did pretty decent at the box office this weekend

$123 million domestic (Superman 2025)
$116 million domestic (Man of Steel)

$217 million global (Superman 2023)
$202 million global (Man of Steel)

But the only problem is
What happens in a week & a half when the Fantastic4 movie comes out? :dunno:

If I'm DC Warner Brothers?

I'm dancing in the office and planning a party in the Hamptons next weekend like Puff in 2012 with these numbers

This WAS the mission.

To NOT suck to clear the stench out out the room. Have people trusting the brand have FAMILIES coming out Make DC look good and build a STRONG foundation

Nothing more.

They might have actually EXCEEDED expectations.

And if Fantastic Four does similar numbers? Or BETTER?

Mission Accomplished AGAIN (thanks Superman raising tide lifts ALL boats)

PLUS?

It rejuvenates the ENTIRE Super Hero genre period.

Well when the movie does only like 500 million(that’s what those numbers are looking like now); and FF4 matches that are beats that; then how are WBs executives happy?? Sups has got to do more than that !!

Yeah according to the numbers, the movie did "good" this weekend
But.....Its like watching a boxing match
One fighter is up early 3 rounds to 1
But the issue is he already looks gassed/tired & running out of steam
And there's still 8 more rounds to go

With the Fantastic Four movie right around the corner
They might have a slight problem
With all of its criticism, Man Of Steel, still made a final total of $670 million
So thats actually the number James Gunn has to beat.....

Bro? The WB execs are HAPPY TRUST and BELIEVE.

Day its like this, all the money they SPENT and it was A LOT for promotion of this movie?

Was to SAVE THE ENTIRE F*CKING BRAND.

Not just Superman. But to make sure this entire new studio could start off with a FRESH SLATE.

Its like in sports firing the GM and Coach and trading the best player after years of losing and no playoffs

and then the immediate next season?

making the Conference finals and losing in game 7.

This is a WIN by any metric.

Cause it was NEVER about the final box office ( o COURSE they wanted to make money) but this was more about an INVESTMENT.

An inverstment toward the FUTURE. GOODWILL. Good reputation.

Cause if the PUBLIC doesnt TRUST the brand?

No matter WHAT you do?

It aint gonna work.

This was a sucess by DCU

but now?

you gotta NOT F**K IT UP.

Supergirl gotta WORK. Peacemaker 2 gotta WORK. Lanterns? GOTTA WORK!.

Funny part? I can compare Gunn DCU roll out like Drake recovery (I might save this for a long form essay!)

Drake could have used this as a blueprint.

Drop the album with Carti you keep the hit streak alive you look good keep your mouth shut and go in the lab and create the best thing you can. don't take TOO long but make sure the temperature is down. Throw out some testers. Make peace with the fans. Admit your mistakes. Drop a FEEL GOOD project that humanizes you . It doesn't have to be perfect. But it has to be HUMAN.

I don’t think it gets nowhere near that number!! The projections just like a week ago was a domestic opening of 140-150 million; and it’s already fallen; that’s an issue! 220 million worldwide opening I think is ok but I expected at least 300 million…

I agree with that aspect for sure! I guess I have just been comparing DC to marvel studios and it’s probably not fair ! And they ain’t that so yea. I haven’t seen movie yet so I can’t give a review but it seems to be a solid movie! DC needs to make good movies as opposed to compete with marvel studios! I’m still gonna look at DC funny though if FF4 outperforms Sups…

^^^^ That's my opinion. You can't do that comparison because Marvel run is basically HISTORIC. f**k that it IS historic.

and we are WAY too hard on Marvel too.

EVEY damn movie cannot generate a billion dollars.

Thunderbolts was important because it didn't SUCK and it was done with b/c list characters and made a decent amount considering.

Sometimes you gotta invest in keeping the BRAND safe.

Very true! I don’t think FF4 will do big numbers; but then again a big number for that movie might be 600-700 million; so yea we do get caught up a lot and not really understanding the importance of impact and producing quality movies …

And investing in the brand is very important! DC animations are amazing! They should be doing those consistently on streaming ! That would help their brand!!

I always say it aint Superhero fatigue

Its BAD MOVIE fatigue

and to go deeper? I don't even know if WE KNOW what a REALLY bad movie is?

Cause Minecraft was NOT a good movie. But for THAT audience? It was PERFECT.

Deadpool is NOT, I don't give a sh*t what anyone says, it was NOT a good movie. BUT it was PERFECT for THAT audience.

But Transformers One WAS a great movie. No one saw it.

Fall Guy was a FUN movie. No ne saw it

Ballerina was good! But nope.

Even Elio was a NICE kids movie the kind audience CLAIM to want. But nope.

So I really don't know what to say about the AUDIENCE ability to know what it REALLY wants either.
