Superman to hit theaters July 11, 2025, marking the start of the DCU - Batman movie THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD/Superman| NEW Official Trailer May 14

She was definitely better than chainsaw hand bitch

I was one of the biggest defenders of man of steel all them years back when everybody else bitching about the collateral damage caused by superman and zod fighting. I have an old dvd camrip that I bought back in 2013. Now it seems that all the people that was on the hate band wagon back then are riding snyders coat tails .they showed man of steel on TNT last week and im sorry but thats not superman. That shit was so dreary and henry cavil was so lifeless and wooden. Not only that but they killed off supporting characters like Dr emil hamilton from star labs. The the only good thing about that movie was zod . Not the other kryptonians but zod. The chick only had four or five lines. Again i say that shit was dreary and dull no color or life to it whatso ever.

Zack snyder aint a bad director but his style doesnt work for mainstream dc. It worked for 300, watchmen and i only accept his version of justice league because it was much needed. Man of steel was a grounded take and like i used to say it was a realistic approach but it wasn't comic accurate. Man of steel wouldve worked better as a one shot or self contained franchise if zack snyder treated it as a character study warner got greedy and tried to build a connected universe.

It's at 93% fresh audience score so clearly the vast majority of people liked it.

Seems like it's more it's not your cup of tea than the movie is bad. Not every movie if for everyone.

Honestly, I think Superman 2025 was a movie made to appeal to the masses
Comparing Superman 2025 to ManOfSteel
Is probably, sort of like comparing MobbDeep Shook Ones to Nelly Country Grammer
One record (or in this case movie) some people might consider it "commercial" & designed to appeal to a wider audience
(Obviously ManOfSteel is not a "classic", like Shook Ones, but you kinda get my point)

Superman 2025.....
had the jokes (some funny, some not)
had the one-liners
was more colorful
had a more lighthearted feel to it (almost similar to the first Antman movie)
had the cute dog
designed to appeal more to kids & younger adults
had the music/soundtrack
(music playing in the background during fight scenes like Guardians/Galaxy & Deadpool)
James Gunn stuck to his usual formula

Man Of Steel was like almost the total opposite
A more darker movie, not many jokes, started off slow b/c of them showing Clark's childhood, etc, etc
So I can see why reviews are all over the place with how much people like the two movies

I understand that point of view. I think that the tail is wagging the dog on this one tho. Pun intended.

And another thing.....
Am I trippin, or was some of the CGI a little "overdone"? :dunno:
But again, I watched the bootleg & not in the theaters
But a couple of scenes had me thinking
"Damn that CGI looked bad"
Like for example when Lex & the Engineer get to the Fortress
Robot parts hittin Lex in the face & shit.....and dude doesn't even flinch, LOL
Its like "come on James Gunn at least make the shit look like you didn't add the CGI in at the last minute" :hmm:

Man take your ass to the theater
The robot parts were flying by him

Yeah back then everyone wanted to copy Christopher Nolan's success with the Dark Knight
Make a dark, gritty, more serious & grounded comic book movie

I just finished watching the movie and personally I think it's the best live action superhero movie since Spiderman: No Way Home. Corenswet was great as Superman (I dont have anything to compare him to other than Reeve, Routh, and Cavill, even though i havent seen MOS, but I have seen him as Supes in other movies)

Saw it Saturday morning. Really hope that the movie turned out well and got what I wanted. Overall good movie and a nice start to the world building for James Gunn vision for his DCU. Mr. Terrific was the standout character of the movie. Hope they use him in the Green Lanterns show or something else soon.

Fellas, I went to the 10:00pm showing of this movie on Sat night!!..To be honest, I thought this Superman movie was alright!!..At first, it was some things in this movie had thrown me off a bit but around the end it made sense to me!!..It has alot of Easter Eggs in this movie and setting up things for upcoming DCU movies!!...

Man, This was my first movie back to the theaters since 2021 and I was ready for another Superman movie to come out!!..So it was worth going to see!!...

Pros:

They embraced the weird. Pocket dimensions, Kaiju monsters, Krypto, all that. Fuck it, go all out.

Superman/Clark wasn’t milk toast boring. He was entertaining, funny, flawed, and felt…human.

They emphasized that Superman SAVES people. Man of Steel definitely was not on that wave.

Great world building.

Fights were cool, and Superman didn’t seem unbeatable.

Lois Lane felt like Lois and wasn’t Damsel is distress 24/7.

This is the best Lex Luthor ever put to screen.

Cons:

They may have overemphasized that he saves everyone. When he saved the squirrel, i rolled my eyes. We get it!

Talking about the overseas conflict rather than showing it.

They never addressed that Superman lost his first fight. Would’ve been neat to talk about during the Lois and Superman interview.

Not really a con but is Peacekeeper is in this universe and the old one? Cause it’s confusing.

Pacing is a bit weird at times.

Overall: probably the best movie since Superman 2. Yes better than Man of Steel.

8 out of 10

From a kid perspective really good/great movie. From an adult view it was ok... For you individuals that are taking shots at man of steel well I'm a grown up and I always like movies with great villains.. the best movies are when villains are great.. see Thanos, winter soilder, the world smartest man.. nothing worst than a weak ass villain or someone you know can't beat the hero.. zod crew was the real deal and gave zero fucks.. put supes to the test and made him go against his principles in order to save lives . Give me that movie . The lil goofy cartoonish dog, the shitty CGI alien kid, stakes never seemed high.. cool kid movie, but give me mos as a grownup

The first flight they referenced was they ongoing with Ultraman I believe. He returned to flight again, but Lex ended it.

Peacemaker was in the old and now he's in this one.

Yes i understand that.

My point is, the first chunk of the movie feels cluttered cause they are introducing so many new elements.

I’m also a fan of show not tell. Even in a montage.

As for Peacekeeper, yes he was in the Snyderverse which had its own Superman and Justice League. Soooo now he’s here. Are the universes connected? Answers that will be answered in Season 2 probably

For a fresh start Superman movie it is, and trust I was being generous with that rating, I had it more 3 out 10 but I had to carve my bias out to get it to 6.5.

Jmo

And don't forget Superman's earth parents.....
They really went from Kevin Costner & whoever played his Mom, as strong role models
(remember that scene where she basically was like "fuck you General Zod, I'm not telling where the codex is")

But James Gunn was like, da hell with that
We're gonna get some country ass redneck, overweight, trailer park looking bama, with missing teeth :D
Like.....I know Supes grew up in Kansas.....but gawd damn James Gunn :D
Bruh wanted to sell tickets
So he made the Puff Daddy with the colorful shinny suits dancing in the background type of movie

Superman was letting people and things die in the new Superman everytime he let the justice league intervene is that the real Superman? Calling in favors knowing it was gonna be mass casualties is that Superman? Even when he talking to Lois in the background you can see justice league ready to kill something else is that your Superman?

Exactly. People might have enjoyed all those darker themes, but it's not Superman. That's like making a joking, boy scout Batman movie.

Some people might like it, but it's not true to the Batman character.

I thought about that but I wasn't sure if "ma and pa" Kent weren't like that in the comic so I didn't say anything.
