I saw the movie last night.
It's not as good as folks are making it seem... NO WAY.

But it's not as bad either.
And that's the whole problem.
The movie is MID.
I give it somewhere between a "C+" and a "B-" rating.
(Maybe even a "B" at the most... if i wanna get generous.)
The writing is just not as good as other superhero movies that have come before it.
Judging from the trailers, I thought the guy who played Lex Luthor was gonna be almost as good as Heath Ledger's Joker.

He started really strong at the begining... but by the end of the movie, he became a joke.

But it wasn't because of HIS acting... it was because of the script/writing for his character arc fell apart.
- To me, the BEST part of the movie was.......... Mr. Terrific.

- He was the BEST superhero in this film, imo.

- He was serious. But also had some funny moments... and kicked some serious ass.

His biggest fight scene when he was outnumbered... was one of the very few times the audience cheered (out loud) for something.
It's crazy because I was expecting him to be really wack...... but he actually STOLE the whole movie, imo.
One thing is clear... Mr. Terrific needs HIS OWN movie.
If DC is smart, they will give him his own movie. ASAP.
As far as this movie goes... the folks who love "Guardians of the Galaxy" & hate Zach Snyder's Superman.. are gonna act like this movie is the BEST thing ever made in the history of DCU.
And the folks who like movies like "The Dark Knight" / or "The Winter Soldier" / or "Man of Steel" are not gonna think this movie is as good as any of those films (because it's not).
Here's another thing..... In James Gunn's movie, I hated all the Kryptonian technology in the Fortress of Solitude.

It was sooooo underwhelming. And all those useless Superman robots were just pointless. They were just thrown in the movie to sell toys, imo.
The Kryptonian Technology in "Man of Steel" absolutely SHITS on James Gunn's vision of Kryptonian Technology.

It's not even close.
And what makes it even worse... both Lex Luthor AND Mr. Terriffic (2 humans) somehow BOTH had technology that SHITS on the Kryptonian Tech also.

But wait a sec... Krypton can make a Spaceship to carry Superman across multiple the galaxies... but somehow this advanced alien technology IS NOT any better than the shit that Lex Luthor and Mr. Terriffic got in their garage???

Cmon Man. This can't be life
There's gonna be alot of people (and YouTubers) who will REFUSE to admit the movie is just
"okay-ish".
They are gonna LIE their ass off and try to hype it up.
But I won't be surprised if this movie does not crack $1 billion... or just barely gets past that milestone.
James Gunn needed to make an UNDISPUTED blockbuster of a film... to backup all the shit he was talking about the Snyderverse.
But this ain't it, Chief.
It's just MID.
The Russo Brothers would have done a MUCH better job if they had made this movie, imo.
The bottom line is... James Gunn probably won't lose his job

... but he also won't surpass Marvel any time soon.
His new Superman movie sets up a whole new pantheon of DCU films that will keep them SOLIDLY in 2nd place, behind Marvel.
Right where they have always been. Completely unable to catch up, or close the gap.
Even when Marvel is in a major slump.
