My Mom Jayne

This is not only a tribute to Jayne Mansfield but a personal exploration for her daughter Mariska Hargitay
Loss of a loved one the feelings connected to that never goes away and it's written on the faces of all of Mansfields children. The documentary also explores the compassion she had for people she knew her sex kitten persona would get her foot in the door and hopefully lead to more dramatic roles and that search to be taken more seriously lead to her disconnect particularly with Mickey Hargitay. There are so many haunting things i didnt know. There is so much to take in about Jayne and Mariska's lives the situations that were obvious and not so obvious. Love that was shared and and loving connections that fell apart for various reasons. I praise Mariska for being so open with so many personal things ,so much she didnt have to share with the world. But just like Jayne who had her funny, dark and loving sides this documentary also displays a blend of all the aforementioned.

Scale of 1 to 10 a 10+

Eradication
2022

5.5/10

I watched this flick this afternoon at home on tubi. It’s a Sci-Fi thriller and a tubi original.

The film follows the same premise as zombie apocalypse films like “World War Z” and “28 Days Later” with the zombies infected with a rage virus.

There is only one scene with an infected zombie. The film plays out more like a character drama with the main character. The film is a slow burn.

That is about all I can say without spoiling it cuz it has a decent unexpected twist at the end which saves it. If you looking for something different with the zombie genre, this should interest you.

Synopsis

"Eradication" (2022) is a pandemic-themed thriller about a man named David who is isolated in a remote cabin after contracting a deadly virus that has wiped out most of the world's population. He is being studied by his wife, Sam, who is an epidemiologist, in hopes of finding a cure. David, however, begins to suspect that something is wrong with the situation and that his wife may be in danger.

Sure it’s some chatter on it elsewhere but I didn’t see anything on new Idris/Cena Prime flick HEADS OF STATE* - I’m fuckin with it. When I saw it was Hardcore Henry/Nobody director I needed very little else to at least give it ten to fifteen mins… I’m not more than halfway as of writing but it’s an easy win on this one.

*extra points maybe :dunno: bec I can’t get the Nate Dogg (RIP) theme from Chris Rock’s 2000s flick HEAD OF STATE out my head everytime I see the ad etc for this one

6/10

I watched this flick last night at home with my sons on MAX.

It’s a film set in the not to distant future. The premise thru-out is based around a society of expendability and corporate/political exploitation. With what is going on today, it’s amped up in this film. The film does a decent job presenting this without being preachy about it.

VFX/SFX looks decent through out. The story flow smoothly from start to finish.

For the Militants, there is interracial between a WM/BW. Only PDA is shown.

For the Gay Agenda trackers, with the subject of human cloning as the main sub-plot, the topic of “Would You Fuck Yourself” is brought up. All that is shown is Male PDA.

Overall, it’s an interesting film that gives a fore warning of what could happen if this world keeps going on in the direction it’s currently on right now.

Synopsis

"Mickey 17" is a 2025 science fiction film written and directed by Bong Joon-ho, based on the novel "Mickey7" by Edward Ashton. The film stars Robert Pattinson as Mickey Barnes, a disposable employee on a human expedition to colonize an ice world. When Mickey dies, a new version of him is printed with his memories intact, but his 17th iteration unexpectedly survives a mission and discovers a new version, Mickey 18, has already been printed.
