They still can. Reaves, Rui & Gabe all expiring can get traded at the deadline for somebody big.

Trade Reeves and get what? The problem the Lakers have is their trade bait is highly paid and Luka and Bron can't be traded....Which leaves Rui and Reeves....and what is Reeves worth to a team trying to win now that needs a big man? Its tough.

He's a flawed big man that can score at times but not do anything else. When y'all traded for him I was like huh? I didn't get it.

I'm not mad at him for taking more money.Sixers didn't have money on the books for him. There was nothing they could do.

Reaves, Rui & Gabe are 43M in expiring contracts. You only trade them if you're getting a superstar back. If not, let them walk & along with Lebron's 52M expiring, they'll have room next year for 2 max contracts.
I like Reaves but not at 49M a year with a max contact next year.
And the thing about expiring contracts that's usually dedicated for teams with a disgruntled player who's 'good but they dont' want to commit to him. Like a Bradley Beal type.
To get a superstar you gotta get ready to trade a star player and like 4 1st round picks.
