You met Yisset a few weeks ago through your friend Millie, who just happens to be her first cousin. You've known Millie for years and you are very good friends, but you've never been nothing more than friends; however, you do know that Millie has a "jealous nature."
Yesterday afternoon you get a phone call from a number that you're not familiar with and even though it's Saturday you let the call go to voice mail, but no message was left. About 2 minutes later you get a phone call from that same number and you figured, why not take a chance and pick up.
To your surprise it's Yisset, Millie's cousin and after getting pass the regular "how's the family convo" she wants to know if you have HBO and would it be okay if she came by and watch the movie "Sinners" with you (if you're not entertaining company or busy)?
You told her that it would be okay if she came by, but since she had never been to your apartment you thought it best that you give her directions to your place. On second thought, you told Yisset to get in a taxi cab and you would meet her outside your building and pay for her cab ride (you remembered that her cousin, who has been to your place several times is not very good when it comes to travelling directions and this trait might run in the family).
You met Yisset downstairs around 7:00 PM (the movie started at 8:00 PM) and you figured that she hadn't eaten or would get hungry so now you have to pose the rhetorical question of:
"Did you eat and are you hungry?"
When there is so much of a hint in the air that a female is expecting a "free meal" from you, you already know the answer.
Now, you have limited options because of time constraints, and your go to would be "McDonald's" that just a few blocks away, but here's the problem. Even thought Yisset is what you might consider a "nice girl" she's probably been going out with guys that spend "big money" on her because of the way she looks and women from DR or Colombia outgrow Mickey D within a few weeks when someone else is "footing the bill."
So, you suggest going to this Belgian restaurant in the area and you order some food to go, and she's impressed because she was totally unfamiliar with the cuisine from that country (to be honest she wasn't familiar with the country either).
The meal was good and Yisset enjoyed the movie also, so much so that she even wanted to act out a few scenes from the movie.
Thank you, Ryan Coogler...
