UPDATE: Donald Trump Takes Office as the 47th US President

One of the biggest and most important mistakes Dems make is pretending (even for the sake of argument) that Conservatives have real and meaningful beliefs. It's what has led us, predictably, into this dystopian bullshit.

Ultimately tho, THE biggest mistake is being a Liberal party (with nothing to offer) when being Left is the answer.

And now oil prices are gonna skyrocket.

And we will pay for it at the pump…

Hi everyone, I know lots of people are going to be attending rallies tomorrow. As a criminal defense attorney and former prosecutor, I just want to offer some thoughts.

Please voice your opinion loudly and clearly and to your heart‘s content, but I don’t want to see anyone get in trouble or arrested (unless, that is how you choose to express yourself). These situations, by their very nature, are intense with emotions running very high from both sides of any line. Please be conscious of not getting drawn into the emotion of things where you lose your better judgment.

Don’t lose your cool.

Don’t overreact.

Don’t get caught up by those around you if those around you aren’t helping things or are instigating violence.

If a police officer lays his/her hands on you, it’s not the end of the world. They too are trying to manage their emotions and are thinking about their families, so don’t react in a way that immediately turns the temperature up if you have a close encounter with law enforcement. Also remember, I don’t think it’s wise to actively resist, thrash about, or expel any bodily fluids towards any police officers, as that is going to land you in jail. In Wisconsin, obstructing/resisting an officer is defined as “anything that makes an officer’s job more difficult to do.” Now, that’s here in Wisconsin, but you can imagine that it doesn’t take much to justify an arrest if this is the law. If you feel like you are being wrongly detained or arrested, I don’t think the street is the proper venue to try to remedy that. Fighting or actively resisting police officers is not a wise idea in my opinion. Record things with your cell phone or have others record things, and if you are in the right (or police officers are in the wrong), there is a time and place for that to be dealt with, but in my opinion, it shouldn’t be the street because my number one priority in posting this is to look out for the safety of those who want their voices to be heard.

If you end up being arrested know that most of the time, people will be released on their own recognizance or be given the option to post bail for misdemeanor level offenses. If you’re charged with a criminal offense, find a good lawyer and preserve any audio or you visual evidence you or others may have.

Tomorrow is a big day for America. The juxtaposition of what’s going to happen in Washington DC and in dozens of cities around America will be unreal. Shout loud and proud, but stay safe! ❤️
