This is really interesting, because I had always read that the Xavier/Mageto relationship was analogous to Martin/Malcom- and the mutants themselves were supposed to showcase/highlight/mirror the struggles of minorities during the civil rights movement.
I would love to see Ryan Coogler do a pass on a script with that perspective in mind. I think it would have a sense of authenticity and some nuance/subtext that a lot of these Marvel writers either don't or are not permitted to impart into their work-
Realistically, I don't expect any of that to happen (too... "woke", I suppose- which is ironic), but it would be interesting.
