The Take It Down Act is a bill introduced in the Senate by Sens. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., that would make it a federal crime to publish, or threaten to publish, nonconsensual intimate imagery, including "digital forgeries" crafted by artificial intelligence. The bill unanimously passed the Senate earlier in 2025, with Cruz saying Monday he believes it will be passed by the House before becoming law.

Trump’s First 100 Days in Office Deliver Little Progress on Solving the Housing Crisis

President Donald Trump’s second term hit the 100-day mark on Tuesday, reaching a traditional milestone for assessing the early steps of a presidency toward achieving its key goals.

On the campaign trail, Trump made the housing affordability crisis a major focus, vowing to cut costly regulations on homebuilders, open new federal lands for housing, and deliver mortgage rates of 3% or lower.

Just hours after his inauguration, Trump signed a memorandum calling for “emergency price relief” that the White House said would take action to “drastically lower the cost of housing and expand housing supply.”

The focus on housing, somewhat unusual for a presidential campaign, came at a time of extraordinary affordability strain for homebuyers and renters. Home prices soared more than 40% during the COVID-19-era housing boom, and roughly half of the nation's renters were designated as cost-burdened.

So far, the administration has delivered some initial steps to address the crisis, notably by forming a task force to identify federal lands suitable for building homes. But housing experts say that the new administration has shown little concrete progress on housing, with Trump’s tariff agenda instead dominating early policy focus.

“When it comes to housing, the first 100 days of the second Trump presidency have left Americans wanting more,” says Realtor.com senior economist Joel Berner. “There has been conversation about lowering the cost of housing by opening federal lands for development and cutting regulation on builders, which would be helpful initiatives. But so far, there has not been much action.”

One possible bright spot for homebuyers, says Berner, is that an economic slowdown caused by a trade war might be expected to lower interest rates.

However, uncertainty surrounding Trump’s frequently shifting trade policies has kept rates elevated, with the 30-year fixed rate jumping back above 6.8% in recent weeks, according to Freddie Mac.

I wonder if this will start a trend where American students go out of the country to get their medical degree.
Probably esp. if they pass that GOP bill regarding student loans.

The only issue I can see coming up though is these students would then have to pass US Medical Licensing Exams (USMLEs) in order to practice in the USA if they want to return.

I’ve heard those exams can be very hard and difficult.

It will be interesting to see if the American Medical Association provides a response.

I hate this anemic uncle fester clone Sooo much

MILLER: Is it your view that if a Democratic president releases..

REPORTER: Stephen, I don't have a view about what Democratic presidents do; I'm asking what the Republican president you work for wants to do with his resources.

"So you don't want to answer the question?"
"Motherfucker, I'm reporting on you!"

Trump’s Comeback
January 21, 2025

Coming after an unprecedented campaign season that saw Trump’s felony conviction in a “hush money” case, multiple assassination attempts against him, and President Joe Biden’s exit from the race just four months before the election, “Trump’s Comeback” tells the story of Trump’s return to the presidency, overcoming obstacles and opposition.

The film investigates how Trump’s comeback had roots dating back decades and offers a valuable primer on his approach to life and politics as his second term begins.

The documentary is drawn from FRONTLINE’s vast archive of incisive reporting on Trump across nearly a decade as well as new interviews with White House insiders and journalists conducted after Trump’s 2024 election victory.

“In the scope of American history, it’s almost unbelievable. In the scope of Donald Trump’s life, it’s kind of routine,” Trump biographer Marc Fisher says in the film. “The story of his life is massive swings between utter failure and glorious victory.”
