everything this administration and the conservative media has done in the last 10 years is damn near everything that was done in the great leap forwards and the cultural revolution in China ... suppression of anything that differs from the party planks and reversing the previous regimes works, delegitimizing contrary points of view in teh press and media ...banning them in some instances, appealing to Nationalism and scorning Scholarship or educated people as effete and elitists out of touch with real citizens, rigid adherence to party members to not step out of line
