I saw it regular, then I saw it on the Cinemark version of IMAX which is XD some shit. I'll see it on IMAX as soon as I canGoing to see it again next week as a double feature with the 20th anniversary of Revenge of the Sith. Niggas only fooling themselves if you don't go see this on the largest screen possible

Is one of the greatest scene in modern cinema. they hate to see us shine and remind them that we the original.
@DC_Dude @OutlawR.O.C.
Still can't figure why he thinks Thunderbolts is going to be so good...They got the sentry and the void in this movie and they almost ended everything in the comics.
Thunderbolts gonna be fire
Just booked my tickets for Imax for this evening. They have it Dolby and Imax. May go see it in Dolby as well because I'm "quietly" an audiophileGoing to see it again next week as a double feature with the 20th anniversary of Revenge of the Sith. @EPDC if Josh Allen plays like trash this season...we know whyCave dweller must got some ridiculous pussy
That’s why they didn’t want just red paint because blue paint keeps them awaySaw yesterday. I enjoyed it. I would rate it Good, but not great.
Let me say this first, this is only the 3rd Movie I've seen in theaters since Covid (the other were Black Panther 2 and Color Purple Music) and it was really good to see Black folks, couples and families out to have a good time at the movies. I had to try two different times because he earlier shows were sold out.
I haven't been on BGOL much in the last year and don't have cable anymore so I went into this completely blind (no trailers). The only thing I knew was the cast and that it was a period film. My date told me as we walked in that there was a horror element to it so I was expecting something like Get Out.
I'm not a fan or the hack and slash genre in general and I kinda feel like any new tweak to Vampire genre has already been explored, so I was a little disappointed that the film went in that direction. Having said that, I fully understand that if Coogler had made just a period piece about the horrors of Jim Crowe racism he probably would not be making his money back on the film.
It's just once you make it a horror survival movie, then you kind of have to follow a predictable set of steps to the movie conclusion.
A) Main characters find out Vampires exist and are trying to kill us.
B) Someone who knows about Vampires has to do a lot of exposition on Vampire powers and how to kill them
C) Montage of Vampire killing weapon making and fighting back
D) Vampires pick off side characters until the Hero/protagonist figures out how to kill the big bad
So if this what you have to do, then the question becomes how well do you do it. For this film it was executed well, but it felt like things I had seen before. Somewhere earlier in this thread, someone posted part of a review that said the movie was a juxtaposition of "From Dusk to Dark", "Idlewild" and a pinch of "Crossroads" and I can't front I caught all those references heavily.,
At the end of the day, I'm glad the film was made because it showcases a lot of Black talent, black music, history and culture, but I'm stuck with a lot of "What ifs" in my mind.
What if, instead of Vampires, the Haint's (from Gullah mythology) were explored as the trouble to be overcome (See Piano Lesson)
What if, instead of Vampires, the trouble that Smoke and Stack left Chicago for (which they kept hinting at) came back on them in an interesting way (See Fargo TV series)
What if, instead of Vampires, the history Smoke and Stack had with their Pops (which they kept hinting at) played a role in the story especially with the whole Sammi subplot with his Pops.
I will say the Mid Credit scene redeemed the Vampire twist quite a bit in my mind. I think it leaves a window for a possible sequel which might be very interesting.
This is our year@EPDC if Josh Allen plays like trash this season...we know why![]()
I know about that and I wish they would have explored it more. Our supernatural mythology is rich and interesting too. That’s why they didn’t want just red paint because blue paint keeps them away
The Gullah Geechee people have various rituals and beliefs to protect themselves from haints, including the use of haint bluepaint.
It's a common Vampire trope. True Blood on HBO used it all the time. The story is the same in the good ones, you have to invite them in
History *I know about that and I wish they would have explored it more. Our supernatural mythology is rich and interesting too.
One more "What If"At the end of the day, I'm glad the film was made because it showcases a lot of Black talent, black music, history and culture, but I'm stuck with a lot of "What ifs" in my mind.

Nah it should have been more emphasis on the hoodoo/vodun spirituality aspect of thingsOne more "What If"
What if The Native Americans from the white folk cabin scene came back to help and used their magic combined with the hoodoo woman magic to fend off the "White Vampires" I really was expecting them to come back.
Man, listen. My gawdWhen she walked away in that dress, whew
