Deion Sanders offered the Colorado job- Official Colorado season thread

Colorado football's spring game to be nationally televised on ESPN

Charlie Strella
Colorado football head coach Deion Sanders spoke to the media for the second time this spring, announcing some pertinent information regarding Colorado's annual Black & Gold Spring Game.

Coach Prime and the Buffaloes will play at Folsom Field again on Saturday, April 19, in front of a national audience. The game will be televised on ESPN2 and kickoff at 2:30 p.m. MT.

Sanders believes in spring games and even intimated that he is looking for an opponent for this year's game. He hopes to set it up like the NFL, with joint practices leading into a pre-season game, which would be a first for college football spring games.

The Buffs join Virginia as the only two schools with nationally televised spring games. A few other programs will have their spring exhibition streamed, but the shift away from traditional spring games seems to have reached ESPN's top brass. Nebraska is just one example of a program that is expected to cancel its spring showcase due to transfer portal concerns.

Last year, Colorado's spring game seemed to turn into a showcase for players about to enter the transfer portal, with players like running back Dylan Edwards transferring soon after.

The spotlight will again be on the Buffaloes this spring, and who knows, it could be one of the last traditional spring games we see.

"We got to sell out this thing [spring game] and pack the stadium," Sanders told the media. "The way this train is going, I don't know if this will be the last one."

Thirteen Colorado football players headed to Big 12 pro day

Thirteen Colorado Buffaloes are among the 200-plus players set to take part in the second annual Big 12 football pro day, which runs Tuesday through Thursday inside the Ford Center at the Star in Frisco, Texas.

Quarterback Shedeur Sanders and Heisman Trophy-winning wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter headline the event, although it's unlikely they'll put their talents on display for nearly 300 NFL scouts and personnel. Neither Sanders nor Hunter participated in the NFL scouting combine last month. Also of note, Hunter is listed as a wide receiver for the Big 12 pro day.

The Buffs' dynamic duo will be joined by 11 other former CU players: defensive end BJ Green II, offensive guard Justin Mayers, defensive tackle Chidozie Nwankwo, wide receiver Jimmy Horn Jr., defensive back Travis Jay, safety Shilo Sanders, wide receiver Will Sheppard, defensive back Cam'Ron Silmon-Craig, safety Herman Smith III, wide receiver LaJohntay Wester and punter Mark Vassett.

The NFL Network will televise the Big 12 pro day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. MT on both March 19 and 20.

Damn, if Colorado has a good season this year, it is curtains when it comes to recruiting. Imagine being a top QB, trying to go to the league. Imagine being a to RB, trying to go to the league. Imagine being a top DT trying to go to the league. If the NFL is your goal, being tutored coaches who were stars in the league is a no brainer.

Why leave out CB that’s probably the brightest spot Kevin Mathis and Deion Sanders in your ear

That offensive line room ain’t slacking either with
Andre Gurode & George Hegamin. Might not be sexy names but they play at the next level….

I think being able to bring back Rob Livingston was huge.
I doubt Colorado will be able to retain him after this year.
