An OnlyFans content creator is facing trial after prosecutors say a paid fetish encounter turned deadly, and a judge has decided she won’t be going home before her day in court.
Michaela Brashaye Rylaarsdam—known online as Asshley SinCal—was in shackles when she appeared in a California courtroom earlier this month, per Court TV.
Her lawyers asked for the restraints to be removed, but the judge refused, pointing out that there was no jury present to be influenced. Rylaarsdam’s bid for bond was also denied, locking her in San Diego County’s Las Colinas Detention Facility until her arraignment on September 27.

When police arrived, Officer Daniel Edwards found Dale unconscious with his wrists taped, legs wrapped in clear plastic, and a bag over his head. Rylaarsdam was performing CPR when officers entered, according to a report from E! News.
Videos found on her phone allegedly captured Rylaarsdam tightening restraints and speaking on camera while Dale lay motionless. Other messages introduced in court allegedly showed her husband reacting to photos she sent during the encounter, saying he was “excited and turned on.” Prosecutors said those texts were exchanged minutes before Smith called 911.
The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled Dale’s death a homicide caused by asphyxia from the plastic bag placed over his head. During cross-examination, the medical examiner acknowledged that Dale’s high blood alcohol level and existing health conditions might have made him more vulnerable.
Defense attorneys emphasized that Rylaarsdam did not flee, stayed with Dale, and tried to revive him until paramedics arrived. Despite these protestations, she now awaits trial with bail denied.
