true!! i just appreciate the art and the blackness of it!! and I think if one is black then one should love what they saw!! that to me is powerful; again i would have chosen a different set list; but i understand and see why that was done the way it was...
Remember I liked and enjoyed it, I'm just stating why some didn't like it. I respect his artistry and enjoyed the performance, the symbolism and the overall production.
Like they weren’t attacking their music back then.
And Sam should strangle this muthafucka.
It's funny,how it's trending for white folks to accept blues,rock n roll and jazz yet they were criticizing those three genres back then. Hell,they tried to say some white band created jazz back in the day.
Only problem I had was there seemed to be an issue with the mic and the sound system early in his performance. Was a little hard to hear him. I turned the TV all the way up and was still having trouble hearing him good. Sound got better about midway through the performance.

How do you rate his albums? I've tried to put them in order from least to favorite lately and right when I think I've settled on a definitive ranking i change it.
I was late to Kendrick as I've said before.
Honestly it wasn't till the Control verse and BET freestyle did I FINALLY get it.
And after DAMN?
It was over. I went back and re listened to all his stuff from pre good kid to now
I can't really rate his albums like that because it's difficult to seperate such an insane catalog adding features freestyles etc.
But my personal favorite is damn period.
But good kid maad city is a masterpiece. To pimp a butterfly isn't an album its more of an experience. GNX is close to damn to me beat wise and accessibility but i think it needs to breathe. Section 80 is so damn hip hop. But I'm a big black hippy fan too. His ep is great. Mr. Morale takes a minute to get into reminds me of Jay Z last album but it's not my favorite but it's good.
That being said? I still think Drake catalog is probably better overall diversity and size. But I hate comparing rappers like that. Each MC exists in there own legitimate space. However I think Kendrick has more than one undisputed front to back classic album. I maybe can't say the same for Drake or many legends Busta included.
