That wasn’t a mistake. They was trying to do a travel loan, but they quickly found out that they are going too far.
I look at things like the whole Al Franken affair. Now I still believe that he had something in his closet he didn't want coming out, but it's just as true that the first people to lean on him when any pressure was applied were Democrats. He bailed in part because he knew that his own party wouldn't stand up for him when the chips were down.
Alternatively, Republicans, no matter how performative they are with "having concerns", will approve, elect, or appoint anyone with any allegation (or proven evidence of) any crime or offense. They also only care about rules when they can use them to prevent others from getting things they don't like. Otherwise, they just ignore them.
Republicans care more about control than anything. That's why they aren't even clutching their pearls over all of these Trump power grabs. They literally don't care if we become a dictatorship, so long as they control the dictator.
I've never seen a president more willing to shit on his own country repeatedly and in public as hard as this dude does.

Pull up plies. I have no issues with you but at the same time Democrats don’t control nothing right now. Also the media is suppressing a lot of interesting news right now from Democrats and Black people. Last night I had to go search TikTok for more videos on the Ohio incident with the KKK in the hood and how they got dealt with promptly. Black people was trying to take a little break before getting back out there, but apparently bullshit is coming into our face where we had to get up off the couch and be active.
We got foreigners dropping Nazi salutes at our Inauguration, and an entire administration whitewashing our history and representation.
They're going be calling people "nigras" like John Lithgow did in The Tuskegee Airmen before it's all over.
