Would Rey be as popular if Eddie had lived? Not taking anything away from Rey, but Eddie was just better all around.
Rey moved merch practically every day he's been in WWE. That's really the only metric a lot of these opinions go by. Eddie absolutely takes that spot in the real world tho imo. Rey's only significant storyline starred Eddie and currently actively references Eddie in both the LWO and Dom.

And I mean absolutely no disrespect to Rey, but I sure even he would put Eddie in the top spot.

But since Eddie passed, Rey has been popular keeping eddie name alive.
Back then as a youngin, I cried when eddie died, that shit hurt because he was my favorite wrestler.

Breaking character here. It's fcuked up/sad how he and Benoit leaned on each other for support. Two EXTREMELY fcuked up individuals using each other to prop the other up. As close as they were with Dean Malenko (who you'd think would be the level headed one to get them both some help) I wonder how he felt losing both so close in time

I agree but Eddie isn't here anymore, so I agree with rey being the most popular since he's still alive..
I'd definitely agree with that, I was just responding directly to the post which said in history, I'd have rey 2 or 3 from an American standpoint but if we're talking international then he's still up there but under guys like El Santo and Blue Demon.
