Anyways I’m in a federal halfway house and scheduled for release soon
So my lawyer And therapist spoke with the director, my PO, and a rep from bop (bureau of prisons)
Trump is cutting bop budget so they have to hold people longer, past their home confinement date due to budget restraints. It’s legal because until my official out date I’m still considered an inmate. So they have to fill halfway houses And not let people go home. That being said, it’s going mean pay cuts across the board which means staffing shortages. Also because prisons make money, people behind the walls release date will be pushed back as well. They’re going to start closing mental hospitals, cutting insurance and nursing homes etc will lose funding. So if yall got loved ones behind them walls be there for them. As a former CO, these shortages mean more lockdowns “for safety of staff” , less visitation, programs, etc
Please check on your people in these nursing homes too because ain’t no telling his much it will effect healthcare smh

Our family was expecting he would be in prison for life, but when those additional convictions were struck from his record, we had hope. He was resentenced in May to 18 years, but since he already did 12+ by that time and was involved in a ton of programs in the Feds, before he started the appeal process, it was possible he would be out by late next year. His official release date is June 2026 but when he signed those documents he was hopeful to be home this winter. Still holding out hope but April isn't too far away, considering what we were looking at years ago before he won his appeal.

Worked as a CO a while back. The lieutenant was acting all tough I guess trying to show off because his wife and son worked there as well.

He laying out all these rules and what his expectations were of his officers, cool. It was a mixed state jail facility. Me, I didn't trip with none of them fools. I followed the rules but I never tripped with them like other CO's who I guess forgot, you gonna see these dudes on the outside so treat folks with respect, one dude got his ass whooped on the outside bec he was tripin with the inmates.

Going back to the lieutenant. This fool was smashing one of the inmates, got her pregnant and she filed a complaint bec he stopped putting money on her books. Luckily for him it was b4 a law was passed that made it a felony to smash inmates.

Dude lost his job and fam. Hope that cooch was worth it.

This chick I knew had 6 felonies all drug or violent offenses and her stankin ass got to go to a halfway house b4 her release date. Try to stay positive bra.

I was sentenced to 2 years, got out early because of first step act
Instead of letting me go home they keeping me in a halfway house for money purposes
I just started the cdl job last month so even if I hit the lotto I STILL couldn’t go home
