2025 College Football Football thread

If SMU has beaten Clemson then BAMA would have been in the playoffs. Nick Saban and the rest of the analyst crying talking about strength of schedule should matter, Nick Saban talking about a 3 loss BAMA team should have been ahead of a one loss SMU team before they even played in the ACC championship.. lol
Remember when he said that if a team doesn't win its own conference, they shouldn't be in? Then, the one year Bama didn't win the SEC, he started talking that strength of schedule bullshit.

I'm upset my CANES blew multiple opportunities to be in the tournament. As a College Football fan I can't wait to watch these games. I've wanted a playoff system since the late eighties/early 90's (specifically GTech Natty year 1990)...I don't feel bad for teams 10-14 because I think teams 1-9 have earned their spots...I can't wait to see this settled on the field.

And you better believe it will be expanding to 16 games very soon.

To a certain extent I agree on strength of schedule. Teams gonna lineup up as many cupcakes they can. The system still needs some improvement. But also you can't lose to unranked teams multiple times in a season.

Hey I didn't know racist ass Brian Urlacher had a black son who play for Notre Dame.

A couple "cupcakes" losses are the only reason BAMA didn't make the playoffs though, they are trying to say even though we lost to a team like Vanderbilt and only scored 3 points in a another lose to Oklahoma because we had a higher strength of schedule that means we should have still made the playoffs which makes no sense

Bama already lined up cupcakes though. Their losses came in conference. Their OOC schedule was Western Kentucky, South Florida, Wisconsin, and Mercer. To be fair, when they scheduled this Wisconsin was probably a bigger game, but this OOC schedule is terrible. If their losses were Ohio State, Colorado, & Miami, I could understand.

They beat the teams they were supposed to beat and they're hosting a playoff game in Tuscaloosa.

How did they beat the teams they were supposed to when the losses to Vanderbilt and Oklahoma are what kept them out of the playoffs? Those were the teams they were supposed to beat
he saying if they would have beat vandy and the sooners they would have been hosting a game in T-town. But they didnt. Vandy and the Sooners were teams they were suppose to beat easily.

He's making too much money for this

he needs to slide in Van's DM's

:smh:

I agree that the format is all kinds of messed up.

Right now we have to pretend that G5, ACC and Big 12 champs are actually better then all the other teams behind them.

Oregon's ranked number one but they have the hardest road to the championship even with their bye week!
If Boise or SMU miraculously wins, you know there will be an overhaul.

With the new 12-team playoff comes a new revenue distribution model. For 2024-2025, here’s how much each team will make in the College Football Playoff:

  • $4 million for each of the 12 teams that makes the College Football Playoff
  • $4 million for each of the 8 teams that makes the College Football Playoff Quarterfinals
  • $6 million for each of the 4 teams that makes the College Football Playoff Semifinals
  • $6 million for each of the 2 teams that makes the College Football Playoff National Championship Game
Additionally, each team who participates in the College Football Playoff receives $3 million to cover expenses for each round.

Additionally, each conference receives $300,000 for each of its schools whose football team meets the NCAA’s APR for participation in a postseason football game. Each independent institution also receives $300,000 if its football team meets the same standard.

I don't disagree. But if SMU beat Clemson and Bama got in giving the SEC four teams I doubt the SEC big wigs would be bringing this up right now.

Me and my peeps was talking about the playoffs.
He feel teams like SMU, Boise & Arizona State might be in trouble because they can get traditional power teams on neutral fields.
So having the bye is kool but most likely that second rd ain’t a home game.

I told him that’s why it was good for Bama not to be in.
They could get hot and run thru the field. Then it would be a Georgia vs Bama title game

i kinda wanted to see Bama have to play outdoors in the snow in South Bend, Columbus, or Happy Valley.
