Insider says Nissan has "12-14" months to survive

Man in DC the Max's & Cressidas along with the 300Z's were the shit. When the Legend's hit the scene especially the coupes those joints ruled.

I copped my Jetta in '88 and immediately took it to the shop kit, rims, new piped out leather interior & system. Recently I was telling my younger cousins how having a Jetta was damn near as good as having a Benz in the late 80's early 90's, chicks used to love that joint & we had a club roughly 40 of us Jettas, Cabriolets, Golfs, Fox's etc. Sam's Car wash was like going to the club on most days, then hit Haine's Point.
i remember those days. never frequented Sam's but used to see nice whips parked there. i stayed up hainz point though.

Man those were a part of the "Hustler's Cars" the D boys used to have.
Maximas...if you couldn't afford the Stanza (the pre-Altima)
Toyota Cressidas were mean.
87 is when the first Acura Legend hit the scene.
Mercedes with Hammers on em.
Jettas with ground effects kit.
Suzuki Samurais.

I miss the designs that used to come out then.
Wasn't the maxima more high end than the stanza?

That nissan stanza was dope...First care I had in high school with the chrome hubcaps and 2 10's in the trunk of the car...LOL

I'm on my third Maxima now lol

Yep, dream car in high school! That was one sexy muthafucka right there!

You seen the price of an avg Nissan vs Mitsubishi though??? Aside from the GTR or Z, for what they're asking... Who'd buy one vs the competition??? Especially when everything is CVT aside from the trucks???
Yeah, but that company will be around for a long time to come.

Had a 96 then traded it in for a 2000, miss those cars. Remember when I got the 2000 I said if the windows don't row down with the remote I don't want it. Dude looked at me like i was speaking French. Hold down the unlock button for a few seconds, wow I didn't know that. I said how do you not know the cars you are selling.

Unfortunate!!
But many have been functioning this way for some time, but now they have hit the wall again.. I guess we shall see where the cards fall!

Yeah...didn't realize that until after I posted.
The stanza was the middle child between the Maxima and the Sentra. It later became the Altima in the 2000s.
Same with the Infiniti lineup : Q45 then J30 then G20. G20 became the G35 starting in 2002.

Let me also correct myself in saying Fiat and Chrysler merged.
Renault and Nissan has been a terrible pairing. Sort of reminds me of Aston-Martin/Jag/Land Rover and Ford.

All Nissan needs to do is drop the price on their shit. Especially going forward when everyone else is going the other way. But they haven't, and they been rolling old tech out as current with the premium price to boot. I really wanted the new Z when it dropped. But that price for what it really was along with dealer markup made that decision real easy.

Mitsubishi went Dollar tree on them and they're surviving. Issue is......... Once you go bargain bin, that's all you'll ever be. I remember the heyday of Mitsubishi, my first car was a base model 96 Eclipse with an auto. Damn shame what they selling now, but yeah... They still here.

That Montero was the regular man's land rover

I see these Oulanders all the time. I had to check out the prices. I see what you mean!! They are relatively dirt cheap!

Not the best looking SUV, but for the price, it's not bad at all!

What they got that's good?

What's anyone got that's good these days?

Only new vehicle I would consider is a Rivian but that's 100k better spent on real estate.
Rivian's struggling like hell and will probably be out soon.... I've heard no good news about them

FIXED

The current problem with Nissan and so many brands is what some product analyst call enshittification. Its a planned business product cycle that has unfortunately caught on with all types of producers and service providers beyond the digital tech world where it originated. Honestly its a real thing, look it up.

I desperately wanted a maxima and finally got one after I made it out of my mini-van years. Loved it to death, but had to drop $5k on a trans and right after that lots of little things started going wrong. Was still fun to drive right up to the day I sold it, cause the a/c went out again.

I see plenty of Maximas, Altimas and Rogues....I wonder what happen. Seems like mismanagement.

Explains why they haven't had new designs in forever

Yeah Nissan/Infiniti stay recycling the same design, over & over again
I had a Infiniti Q50s that finally broke down on me recently
I got 250,000+ miles out of it, so can't complain too much
But gawd damn, they went 10 years selling that same car, no new shit at all

I remember when @Dr. Truth bought his 2015 Infiniti Q50 hybrid
Fast forward to 2025.....and they still selling the same car today, looks damn near the same with very little changes
Ninjas ain't did shit but change the front bumper & switch to a turbocharged engine

I'll never buy another Nissan. Had a 2002 Altima. Fist thing happened was them plastic door handles breaking off. Second thing was the key no longer code matching the ignition module. Heat never worked that great. A/C was ok. Last thing that happened was the timing chain broke (yeah they had timing chains and not belts)!! I get it, this was a 13 year old car when I bought it in 2015. Don't matter! I ain't ever going there again!
