Alex should be able get out of it when jones tries to take him down, if he's quick enough but alex is lethal with those punches and can jones jaw handle that.
When I was going to check Wiki, I thought for sure it was 2011 or 2012. Then I was reminded his career really started to take off in 2011-12 with the list of big names he fought one after another ...
I'm sure UFC still wasn't well known back then, people were still into boxing until that got boring to start watching UFC.

I still remember watching the 1st Jones fight vs. Gustaffson at UFC 165 in Sept. 2013. I was at a house party, and the general consensus was that it would be easy work for Jones.
Gus ended up giving him a 25-minute scrap with both having their moments.
We were like - "damn - no wonder he got that title shot. He didn't embarass himself."
Gus also gave a good 25-minute title fight to Cormier when he was champ.
Of course Jones made it look easy in the 2nd fight vs. Gus years later.

i can't exactly remember my first time watching a UFC PPV because I had to watch it on IPTV back when it was still new on the market but it wasn't good because the streams were shitty at the tine.
I remember getting back into the sport around 2005. Right around the time of the first Ultimate Fighter season. My brother lived about 10 mins away, so I would record a few episodes on VHS tape & then watch them with him.
GSP was big in Canada during his title reign, so it was cool to hit up the sports bars and check out some of the events in the latter half of the 2000s, and at friends' house parties years later (especially 2012 - 2019).
Funny side note ... never rented any of the PPV events from the video store, but we bought a few of the event tapes for like $5 in the late-90s at Music World in the mall. The early events from like 1993 - 1997, lol.

A few things about Stipe. He’s coming off a four year hiatus from a vicious KO. Also, people are questioning his age. Another thing people aren’t talking about is he’s coming off all of this going in there with one of the best elite fighters. Stipe hasn’t had any tune up fights. He should have taken at least one. This is why I see him getting beaten by Jones.
It’s a bad move. It’s not like you’re coming off a going in there against someone who’s a plain good fighter like Andrei Arlovski or Big Foot Silva for a tune up. He’s going right away in there with an elite fighter who’s been fighting and not taking major time off.
That’s why I say his chances are low for him to win. He could win but it’s slim to none.
