The average American knows NOTHING about American history, let alone the history of the world.
You can call a chocolate chip cookie "socialist", and half the population will run with that without even questioning it nor being able to define socialism.
This is why all the newspapers are written on a middle school level. Last time I worked in a school, MOST students didn't even know the name of THIS country. NONE of them even knew what a county was. To be fair, I asked these questions of THREE grade 6 classes (most of the students ranged in age from 10-12). ONE of them knew the name of the country. Two or three new the name of the state.
And many of my "colleagues" could not even name the 3 branches of government. This is not hyperbole, nor is it a misprint.
I want very much to be one of those "right type of niggas". I worked with "HBCU niggas" who could barely put together a complete paragraph in writing, showed up for work late every day, and yelled at kids for getting in the way while they finished the breakfast they picked up on the way to work.
But they were very quick to tell you they went to an HBCU if you ask what fucking time of day it is.
I am CLEARLY pissed off, but I assure you I am making NONE of this up.

There are many banks here that you can use. Your status is what decides whether you can open an account or not. Because I have civilian orders as a government employee, I conduct financial business on base and use USAA online. To open an account in Germany you’d have to have a residency and work permit.

OK. Let me be a bit more clear. I don't necessarily want to live there; I just want a place to put my savings that is NOT localized in the USA. I will likely be in Asia somewhere. I talked with a Canadian bank yesterday. They said I could open an account as a nonresident, but have to show up in person with i.d. in order to open an account.
That is fine with me. I'd just like as many options as possible before pulling the trigger. My fingers are itchy, to say the least.
