UPDATE: Donald Trump Takes Office as the 47th US President

I love it when they give it to that smug CAC {pause} and he has to eat his words.
Problem is they can't find anyone sane people who are willing to defend Trump and his policies on CNN. One just crashed and burned the other night going against Hassan, so they bring Jennings back because they know they will humiliate him with facts. and the humiliating is usually done by the women at the table. Good day for democracy.

It’s funny to me that Kamala gets away with this “new generation” line talk.

She’s three years younger than the Democrat who was elected president in 2008, 16 years ago! It’s Obama erasure at best.

I respect Jon but this is bullshit.

To tell those types of jokes in that atmosphere knowing a significant portion of that crowd really subscribes to that sort bigoted and ignorant ideology to me either means he does as well or he's willing to participate in spreading that shit for a dollar.

Either way he can't hide behind the "it's just comedy" excuse when you're performing at an event that people were comparing to the 1939 Nazi rally in NYC.
Stewart tried this same middle ground, let's all try to understand white angst bullshit when Trump first came on the scene. This ain't it John  :thefinger:

That "comic" is a fucking racist full stop PERIOD.
I like Jon Stewart but I turned after watching that last night. I generally agree with him on a lot of points he makes but I didn't agree with this.
A comedian could tell jokes about fucking mass shooting corpses in their eye sockets and other comedians would defend them.

Olbermann named Stewart the "Worst Person in the World" today... I can't believe Stewart's little comment is being blown up like this.

John Stewart DID NOT DEFEND THE COMEDIAN.

He played some other offensive material of his to show how ridiculous it was that the Trump campaign booked him and then he said that he found the dude funny.

In the clip he played, Kevin Hart was laughing his ass off at the guy making a joke about his ancestors being slaves. Low brow humor but it actually was a clever punchline. The comedian can be funny and capable in his element.

You can disagree with John Stewart, me and Kevin Hart about the guy's capabilities. (And to be clear, I don't like roasts and think the guy is a Trump supporting moron, so I'm never going to check him out.) But that's all Stewart was talking about and it was a little side comment as he attacked the Trump campaign for putting the guy on.

You typed a lot of words but explain the Beyonce comparison. Jons take here is wrong. And he tried to provide cover for a mountain of bullshit. Kind of like that bull shit mountain you typed.

You honestly looked at the full segment and you think he was providing cover for Trump or the comedian?

His comment on the comedian wasn’t even a take, it was an aside.

And if nine sentences is a mountain for you, that says more about you than me.
