I mad defeated with the IT shit, interviews but no jobs...

I wasted mines and I admit that

But I will go to Georgia and see if I can feel better.
Is Costco hiring near you? They pay decent and after several yrs can make close to 80,000 well idk if that’s all states but might be

I don't have a business license, I am trying to sign up...
No licenses required to find most contract work...setup is a bit tedious and signing up as a business may require tax id/s.s. id/licenses..There will be certain work that will require certs/licenses for higher level jobs.

Those agencies normally hire from within. The most reliable option is LinkedIn. I got my SA job with the Army through them. Your profile must be appeasing.
Im a govt employee , im aware of that.

More of a chance if you apply to multiple vacancies. But the internal hire doesn’t effect him cause he's IT plentiful openings

Florida paying niggas to hunt invasive snakes... Could also get a sprinter van and do lost luggage pick up and drops offs from the airport...

Also know someone over 50 that started a whole new career as a CNC machinist and the nigga also certified electrician, got nice paying 9-5 and runs his own business part-time to supplement... Pretty much what I'm saying it's money and opportunities out here to be made depending on how flexible you are.... Woe is me is not the way to go bruh - persistence

I live in Snellville. When I moved here 8 years ago it was tough sledding finding a full-time IT position. Most jobs in the area are mostly temp. Create a LinkedIn account. You will see mad jobs there. Feel free to lie to make your resume look good. But you must have a industry certification. Start with Security +.
I'm doing the Google Cybersecurity Certificate right now through Coursera. Going good so far and they actually help you with getting a job once you've completed the certificate.

Keep ya head up family. Keep talking to folk, especially if they are good folk and don’t want anything from you. The best part about being in the valley is it shows you who your real friends are. Take note and hold those people close. I have a friend going thru a divorce and a job situation. We laughed about when we got kicked out of Nikki’s on Stewart ave for sitting next to the main stage and not tipping. Life can be grand if you pay attention.

Club Nikki's is mentioned in this song

You must change your perspective. Start seeing challenges as opportunities and embrace them. Nothing worth having ever comes easy.

If what you want was easy everyone would do it.

And make these schools and companies count you out. Don't count yourself out!

Keep putting yourself out there and great things will happen. Just like meeting a woman. You ain't gonna meet her sitting at home. You gotta get out there champ!

I have the S+ which I would assume is a little bit better but I will look into this. How much did you pay?

For what’s it’s worth, I put in 65 applications in 2021. I had about 5 interviews and I job I had 6 and still don’t get it.

One job I applied to led to a class action lawsuit which I got $5k from.

Eventually, I got hired in my field. I’m still working there today, but my head is always on the swivel and staying updated with the latest skills.

Network Operations and Security BS degree

CCNA
and COMPTIA Trifecta but S+ is about to expire

I worked alot of shit jobs and I don't put them on my resume
you can do/upload CEU's (continuing education credits) to CompTIA, pay the fees ($150 for the full 3 years) and keep your sec+ active

Dude we just hired a dude with a whole programing degree...to do desktop support...

Smh...he literally said he had to start somewhere..could not get a job doing anything else
I’m joking but that’s how it is with my cdl as well

battling depression and other shit and i went back to school and finished.

But I'm old so people look at it funny like damn what took you so long?

So I think it's best to call it a day and accept it, I'm too old to start over.
Never too late to start as long as you are still alive.

Have you tried to start your own business? That may be the most lucrative.

Folks think it’s a game out here. I feel sorry for the Indians, the Chinese, the Africans, and American Africans who bought into this lie. My daughter says she wants to be a biomedical engineer. I laughed and asked her if she was looking at the potential salary or does she really want to have cripples learn to pop lock. It was the money. It’s always about the dollars. An entire generation down the drain.

Dude, those Gov jobs are HARD to get into! They have whole subreddits dedicated to people waiting to get in. And then it takes forever for them to process resumes.
It takes time but it’s no harder than applying in the private sector. Took me about a year to come in from contracting. Once I was offered, I started 30 days later. I didn’t 62 applications, referred to about 15, 4 interviews to get two offers.

Keep applying.

An old professor once shared with the class, "Do you control the environment OR does the environment control you?"

Before I conclude on any recommendations, this is what I've identified based on your brief testimonies:

- It appears you're leaning on the side of allowing the environment/ppl to somewhat & "indirectly" control you. This ultimately became a segway into you showing a sense of giving up a trade you've worked so hard to achieve.
- WHAT are your feelings AFTER these thoughts of stressors come about? Are you immediately addressing them head on? Calling a family friend for guidance/support? Any TRUE connections their providing? Is it consistent, worthy and time managed?
- It also appears that by you believing to place yourself in another location (Georgia) will allow things to somehow change.

Recommendations:
The true answer to the question is that there is no right answer to the initial aforementioned professor question.

- Creating a fine balance (not to solely live and depend on either question) THIS is what will propel you into successful places and things!
- If you're adamant leaving (at least temporarily) to Georgia.... Go there with an open mind, "remain optimistic", and in real-time understand that there's challenges anywhere you/we go.
- Participate in Therapy! (Tired of us brothers denying or being arrogant receiving assistance). Do what's morally right for your well-being brother!
- Eliminate ppl AND situations that YOU KNOW that aren't good for you, and establish/maintain ppl that genuinely care.

I'm into Family & Marriage Therapy however, it doesn't hurt to offer BGOL consultation
Hope this helps out good brother. Please update us all. Blessings.

You got to have an inside connection for sure.

I know a few kats that got into NOAA, but they were previously working for federal contract companies that did work for NOAA.

Hit 4 and 5 star hotels up. Always hiring, with real benefit packages. Get a MBA on their dime. If you gotta do hotel work that's gonna be the nicest environment and pay the most.

Doormen at the Ritz Carlton were pulling over 100k, much of it in cash, and that was 25 years ago when I worked there.

Them dudes worked those jobs their entire professional life.

I challenge you to look in the mirror and say

Starting NOW I choose not to be depressed

Then say I forgive you ...and forgive yourself

As you choose joy...

Just say depression no more gatdammit

And give yourself a hug..

And say

Yeah I got this!!!
.then forgive everyone

Especially that bitch...

You know who I'm talking about..

Never too late to start over

Change your thoughts

Change your diet

Change your life..

I didn't want to be negative. But you are 100.

I didn't even want to drag the vibe of the thread down either but my experience with them has been terrible. I always get to the accepted and review stage and then it falls off a cliff. I used to log in and rejections started looking like dead bodies. Knowing people in the biz and having a good rapport goes a lot farther than those job boards.

@totto You in way better shape than me. I been looking for a full time job for 4 years!!!
You have certs and are younger than me. I feel your pain but you need to get a grip.

I did that before, I don't want to spend money I don't have without a job, I was strongly considering going back into security guard work.

I have but I have no ideas on what to start up, i got 5-6k in my name right now.. I was gonna go to Georgia next week and look around, I would consider working wherever and renting a room.

I apply to some of those too the pay is very low but I figured hotel work for a bit, the salary I see is mostly 14-16 a hour
What is your acronym for SOC? Want to make sure I’m following this correctly.

mid 40's... honestly I've been shitted on for a minute for working low wage jobs, people my age look at me funny like I'm a bum ass nigga and I got in my feelings trying to change my situation around. If I had a gun I would be serving life right now but thankfully I don't have one nor want one with how I feel at times.

I will do that, I've had people give me prep talk for decades but I always went back feeling pretty bad. I still have to work on that.
