Barack Obama is urging Black men to step up their support for Kamala Harris, a sign that her campaign is worried about what is typically a reliable demographic for Democrats.

Referencing reports that support for Harris is lagging among Black males, the former president gave what amounted to a scolding as he made an unscheduled stop at a campaign field office in Pittsburgh.

“You’re coming up with all kinds of reasons and excuses, I’ve got a problem with that,” he said. “Because part of it makes me think— and I’m speaking to men directly— part of it makes me think that, well, you just aren’t feeling the idea of having a woman as president, and you’re coming up with other alternatives and other reasons for that.”
The former president is the most popular figure in the Democratic Party and his campaign blitz was expected to inject a jolt of momentum in the final weeks of the race — capturing some of the energy that propelled his historic rise to the White House. But it has also surfaced some weakness in Harris’ own history-making effort.

Obama told volunteers that a lack of enthusiasm appeared to be “more pronounced” among Black men who will be key if she hopes to triumph over Donald Trump, especially in battleground Pennsylvania.

“We have not yet seen the same kinds of energy and turnout in all quarters of our neighborhoods and communities as we saw when I was running,” he said, according to a video of the remarks posted on social media.

He went on to make the case that Harris is someone who “grew up like you.”

The former president is embarking on a battleground state tour stumping for Harris, which began Thursday in Pittsburgh, a city known as a bastion of organized labor, another key constituency.

Obama dismissed Trump’s claims to a strong economy, noting that the Republican benefited from economic recovery policies put in place during his presidency. “I had spent eight years cleaning up the mess that the Republicans had left me the last time,” he said.

He contrasted that with Harris, who he said is “ready to do the job.”

Black men this cycle have expressed frustration with the Harris campaign, and some have said the efforts Democrats have put forth are underwhelming or sometimes even condescending.

Obama, who won Pennsylvania during both his presidential runs in 2008 and 2012 thanks in part to record high turnout among voters of color, suggested that these potential voters were making excuses for not wanting to vote for Harris, a woman who has already made history when she was elected vice president.
In addition to Pennsylvania, Democrats have ramped up outreach efforts to Black men in Michigan and Wisconsin, two other battleground states Harris is working to keep blue.

Detroit, Milwaukee and Philadelphia have large Black populations and high turnout in those cities could be critical to Harris’ chances of winning the election in less than three weeks.

Earlier on Thursday, Trump appeared in Detroit, where he warned that “our whole country will end up like Detroit” if Harris is elected president. “You’re going to have a mess on your hands.”

The Good:

You know how hard it is to get an entitlement program passed in Congress? When people look at their wages, they are not factoring in healthcare, which is now covered. Many of you now have access to Medicaid and the number of people with huge medical bills has probably decreased significantly.

EDkUjbVX4AMkvLB.jpg

Biden did something with eliminating medical debt from your credit report which decreases your interest cost and gives you greater access to credit such as mortgages. Obama set up something with student debt with his income debt repayment option.

The Bad:
He had a horrible trade policy of not using tariffs and instead focusing on enforcing with air quotes trade agreements. Obama was a part of the racial cannibalist clan out of Chicago that promoted that garbage at the expense of the rest of us. They were rewarded handsomely. Many of these people promoted products that were contract manufactured overseas, taking away black jobs, they also promoted college as the answer for the lack of opportunity. Another thing they will do is say you can hustle your way to riches. Leading young people into a dead road is sick and twisted.

He bailed out the auto industry, but crapped all over the UAW with low wages. Helping promote the idea and providing racial cover with using bankruptcy to force unions to agree to huge wage concessions. It is no different than Reagan firing the air traffic controllers that were striking.

The list is endless and I could probably start another thread, critiquing his administration. Many of the pundits cannot articulate in the same manner why Obama did nothing for black folks.

Kamala is losing because of racist whites, by attacking us he is defending them. As a political consultant for her campaign, I would suggest she follow Biden blueprint of talking about funding colleges forgiving student loans. Obama never talked about housing during his campaign.

When she is promoting making housing affordable, now she's pissing off these people that have built this price barrier to keep people out. In her neck of the woods, a community fought against increasing housing density because it would lower prices and allow more minorities to live in that area. Being able to buy a house opens up school integration.

When a house is staged to look like a black family lives in it, the appraisal is half as much. Housing is more affordable in other countries because they are more homogeneous in population.

Q, why do you abstain from posting political topics on the main board, where they'll have a better chance to gain traction and member input?
Just asking.

The main board used to be about women, videos, and pics. Now these foreign bots have taken over with 200,000 post in five years flooding the board with political messages.

@Mask (Military, BRICS)
@GAMETHEORY
@Dr. Truth (DNC Shill)
@MASTERBAKER (Israel, Ukraine)
@TENT

As soon as you post, anything negative, you are attacked

Obama could talk about creating an entitlement or program targeting us directly to fix a wrong when the Supreme Court wasn't so lopsided back in the day during his administration. Now with the deck stacked against liberals at the Supreme Court, you have to avoid using any language or it will get struck down.

These horrible interviews where you confront the politician to acknowledge you on the spot is not a smart move. Instead of student loan, forgiveness which was blocked by the courts, they could've set up an income debt repayment plan with a shorter time period. Again, you have the feeble minded in the media spewing nonsense.

I am looking at the policy initiative they are trying to push and making my decision off that on how that would benefit me. It does not have to have black or minority in the title.

"Just asking"

Great Question.

Some time ago (maybe 4/5 years ago, or perhaps longer), there were posters on the so called "Main Board" who complained of non-sexually oriented posts/responses interfering with the flow - or just in the way of or burying sexually oriented posts and discussions on the so-called "main board." Perhaps, but the truth or veracity of that matter I leave to the "Founding Fathers or Brothers" of BGOL.

Suffice to say, with the creation or advent of the "Politics & Discussion Board I have spent more time attempting to raise the political conscience, issues and discussion without interfering with or otherwise taking away from the "Luscious" - - that is, there was just no need for one to compete with the other.

You're right, he could, -- but that, arguably, opens the door for the proposition that he is helping "US" without consideration for "THEM". Why not make the point in such a manner that doesn't invoke the US Vs. THEM Division ???

.

This is really for the effeminate intellectuals crying that Obama, Harris, or Biden did nothing. I can understand a Charalagmane or Tariq doing this. Not trying to be devisive.

Republicans speak in code words and steer money to themselves. They did this back in the day with home loans and still today with farm loans.

This is how women are, you forgot our anniversary and start crying. When you are working 12 hours, putting food on the table. Buying her things.

These gay men force politicians to be overt because these effeminate men need their anniversary acknowledge like a Tariq, Boyce Watkins or C God

It is much better to post here to garner serious discussion.

Thank you for responding to my question and providing a clear answer that addresses the core issue: the apparent lack of interest (or inability) among members to contribute meaningful and intellectual discourse.

Considering the evolution and direction of the main board over the past decade, I see it as contradicting and somewhat of an indictment against members concerning thread redundancy and the perception that your threads are overshadowing or monopolizing the main board’s posts as the majority of threads created are non-pussy related.

BGOL will BGOL. :lol:

@xfactor and @COINTELPRO Y'all was right. Heh!

I checked out how other boards are ran, no political nonsense. There is one poster/bot from here trying to post anti Republican nonsense and they ran him off

Fully agreed. The diversion from discussion of the topic to personal attacks was one of the reasons I stopped posting years ago. I don’t disagree with the existence of the main board, as it’s the bread and butter of this site. It’s just more difficult to stay on task, so to speak.

1. Apple corporate strategy of using bankruptcy to mask their production move into China withholding the release of viable product like the Iphone. I figured it would be emulated again, and what do you know, Obama rescuing the Big Three forcing steep wage cuts and wage tiers.

2. You wanna talk about disinformation, spreading this lies about the corporate tax rate being responsible for the ultra wealthy. It is their personal tax rate that is low or almost nonexistent that is responsible for their extreme wealth. You want companies to issue dividends, and do stock buybacks to attract capital. The stock market is worth many trillions of dollars. A company can be kicked out of the stock exchanges (delisted) and their ability to raise capital would be severely impacted.

As shown previously, claiming bankruptcy or low profitability is a tactic to suppress wages aided by a high corporate tax rate. Many of the steel companies went under because of this nonsense. The DNC tried to push this nonsense until I shut it down.

3. If he was willing to do this, there's no telling what else he did behind the scenes. I had my own limited personal interactions and it was a negative experience, gay prancing around. He was used for racial cover by whites to mask their activities. Many of the things I'm dealing with now is a result of him.

4. He tried to push that TPP nonsense thinking some trade deal will be respected, again providing racial cover.

Obama: You are pretty Tariq and Boyce.

Obama: Look you got pretty little shoes on. Give me the shoes baby. Come on now, you heard me, give me your shoes like a little bitch. I said give them to me.

Good Girl...

Obama: Now there is one more thing I want from you.

Thanks to my dominating presence, the DNC has started to moderate its position with KH, which was pretty extreme. They should have moderated their positions in 2008 rather than trying to double down using racial cover like Obama to swindle us.

The selection of Trump was the start of the downfall. The majority of the vitriol is emotion driven which is actually shocking to see from posters that are males approaching retirement age.

It is also disappointing to see the vast majority of the discussion about POTUS, which is least important to me than local and state politics.

Agreed. Especially given the nature of congressional and local politics. A very big consideration is focused on abortion laws, which have merely been given back to the states. Many states have passed laws in both directions, which shows how important the local elections are. However, remember that black people now for the most part have not fought against any actual systemic oppression, (IMO), and are making less critical things appear more critical.

Let's see how KH sets up this minority business program loans/grants.

It could be a trap to give a softball pitch to the Supreme Court who will construct case law. If she puts black or Latino all over the bill, turn that shit down. It is only $20,000 and not worth it. The feebleminded will desperately run at it not realizing the implications that case law could have shielding companies.

Indian and Asian have been sic on these programs by whites to undermine them in the past. For example, this stunt with student loan forgiveness helped define that Congress can only authorize it.

She is Indian at heart, don't let her knowledge of our culture fool you. We definitely need more detail about this.

https://www.reuters.com/legal/repub...ew-biden-student-debt-relief-plan-2024-09-03/

Asian got a bad look over representing themselves at colleges than filing lawsuits attacking us. Here it will be a State AG from a right wing state saying this program is illegal. This Indian/Jamaican claiming blackness will be the architect behind this nonsense.

Normally, I don't like to expose politicians who are dangerous criminals. Many of these clowns will run up on me with their weak sauce. I am linked to these schemes whether I like it or not.

Yes, I’m not really concerned about abortion laws and I agree about the fight about systemic oppression. That has been throttled after Obama was in office to the point that most activists are championing fringe minority groups.

I think that is a sign of the times and how so-called black people are now fourth class citizens and I do not see that ever changing under the current socioeconomic and political climate.

Kamala Harris was openly using drug terms like cocaine when I tried to buy 10 kilo raw from her. She was wearing a wire and making it clear that this was a drug transaction. The same thing when she came down into the black community talking about giving out $20 billion in forgivable business loans to black applicants. She was openly talking about the program being for us, and throwing those terms around freely, not even using coded language.

I figured she would try some scheme like this, Asians and Indians are obsessed about affirmative action programs. Here it is appearing helpful and benevolent while backstabbing us, the Asians took a different route looking petty and strange attacking us over affirmative action. Here it is helping set up conservative State Attorney General that would all be lined up with a discrimination/ equal protection lawsuit the minute, she tried to set this up in office. Their lawsuit would eventually end up at a lopsided Supreme Court that would strike the program down and create caselaw, making it worse for us.

Many of them, don't realize that they are given fair treatment for diplomatic reasons with their country which we don't have. They mess with her and the sentences of two white men were changed to the death penalty.

In Brown v. Board of Education, 347 U.S. 483 (1954), the Court held these practices to be unequal and violative of the Equal Protection Clause. Since then, the Court has held that for a race-based classification to survive constitutional challenge, it must pass strict scrutiny, which considers whether the government’s interest in using race is compelling and whether the law is narrowly tailored (i.e., necessary) to achieve that interest. The Court observed that a race-based classification will rarely pass strict scrutiny.

It nevertheless recognized that in certain limited situations, including “remediating specific, identified instances of past discrimination that violated the Constitution or a statute” and “avoiding imminent and serious risks to human safety in prisons, such as a race riot,” it could serve as a compelling interest for race-based government action.

This case that was brought fourth by Asians also impacted employment!

Practical Steps for Employers Regarding DEI Programs

The Court observed that a race-based classification will rarely pass strict scrutiny. KH could put together a strong case to challenge the state AG's but I don't know.

It is clear to me that Asians proved how dense and naive they are by being the face of their own demise. Helped end affirmative action and the prize is a one-way ticket back to their “shithole country”.
