Are Black Voters Leaving Democrats Behind?

Its wild how the evil Republicans get shit done (mostly) when they want to despite only controlling the house, which recently only happened lol.

They are always able to reach across and the aisle and get democrats to co sponsor they shit.

Are they just better politicians than their democrat counterparts?

Do the democrats not know how to strike "back room deals" like in the 60s?

Or are they just playing like weak impotent bitches and don't really want to change the status quo like everyone says they are?
The last line is correct. One of the most disappointing things was realizing the vast majority of republicans had no plans to actually do the things they promised to do if you'd only vote them in. You have some in the house who will fight for some things but the majority are fine with funding the deep state/uni-party agenda.

and the other has a gay agenda:

One More River to Cross: Black & Gay in America Paperback – December 29, 1997

by Keith Boykin (Author)

In the aftermath of the historic 1993 March on Washington for gay and lesbian rights, Keith Boykin, in One More River to Cross, clarifies the relationship between blacks and gays in America by portraying the "common ground" lives of those who are both black and gay.

Against a backdrop of civil rights and the black experience in America, Boykin interviews Baptist ministers, gay political leaders, and other black gays and lesbians on issues of faith, family, discrimination, and visibility to determine what differences--real and imagined--separate the two communities. Boykin points to evidence of African and precolonial same-sex behavior, as well as figures like James Baldwin and Bayard Rustin, to dispel the myth that homosexuality is a "white thang," while his research suggests that blacks are less homophobic than whites, despite the rhetoric of rap and religion. With stories from his own experience as well as that of other black gays and lesbians, Boykin targets gay racism and black homophobia and suggests that conservative forces have substituted the common language of racism for homophobia in order to prevent a potentially powerful coalition of blacks and gays.

Biden on Mission to Reverse Slipping Support From Black Voters

Reaching Out

No Democratic presidential candidate in modern history has won the White House without overwhelming support of Black voters.

That dynamic could not be more true for President Joe Biden, whose 2020 primary campaign was revived by the power of Black Democrats in South Carolina. Black voters then helped propel him to victory in the general election.

Biden needs those same voters behind him to win a second term in November, but the coalition is looking shaky. Much of this week he’s tending to the base.

The tension underscores a broader problem for Democrats with Black voters, who’ve have grown discontent with Biden’s progress on other issues, including inflation, student-debt relief and criminal justice reform.

A New York Times/Siena College poll this week found that more than 20% of Black voters in six battleground states backed Trump, a level of support that’s unprecedented for a Republican presidential contender in decades. :eek2:

Biden also has a campaign event focused on Black voters tomorrow in Georgia, which he won by less than one percentage point in 2020. Later on Sunday, he’ll meet with Black small business owners in Detroit, Michigan, another crucial swing state.

He’s held numerous other events this week honoring Black history and marking the 70th anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education, when the Supreme Court ruled that racial segregation in schools is unconstitutional.

Vice President Kamala Harris was in the battleground state of Wisconsin yesterday for an event with Black owners of small businesses, and she joins Biden today to meet with members of the Divine Nine, a group of Black Greek organizations.

The flurry of outreach reflects just how much Biden has to do to shore up his base with six months left to Election Day.

Other developments this week:
  • Senate prospects: A competitive Maryland Senate primary ended with Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks as the state’s Democratic nominee. Maryland hasn’t elected a Republican to the Senate in four decades, but the November general election could be a toss-up. Alsobrooks will be facing Republican Larry Hogan, popular two-term former governor. As my Bloomberg Government colleague Zach C. Cohen reports, the race could decide control of the Senate in 2025.
  • Pile on: Several Federal Reserve officials signaled the central bank could keep borrowing rates higher for longer as inflation remains stubbornly high, Bloomberg’s Jonnelle Marte reports. Biden has said several times on the campaign trail that he expects interest rates to lower soon, a development that is squarely in the control of the Fed. High borrowing costs have weighed on consumers.
  • Executive privilege: Biden exerted executive privilege to prevent a congressional committee from gaining access to audio recordings of his interview with Special Counsel Robert Hur, who investigated the president’s handling of classified documents, Bloomberg’s Chris Strohm reports. The White House provided Congress with a redacted transcript of the exchange. News organizations, including Bloomberg, have sued the Justice Department for the recordings.

Don’t Miss

Americans give Trump the edge over Biden on the economy in poll after poll, and data on inflation and living standards help explain why even as economic growth is solid and joblessness is low.

Fuck blame. I don't care who fault it is. I want to know what I need to do come January. This russian nazi POS is looking to sell this country to the highest bidder for his own profit. And we're all going to suffer because of it. Finger pointing won't get us through the 4+ years of torture we'll all have to endure.

More fear mongering bullshit.... newsflash...we suffered under Obama and Biden as well ..same shit

This is just my observation of black male Republicans or black males that are supportive of what I'll call TRUMP Republicans...

I am honestly starting to think black men are slowly leaving the Democratic party... black women seem to be staying loyal, but I wonder if that's because of them identifying as a WOMAN first vs BLACK first... like they're not BLACK WOMEN, they're WOMEN who happen to be BLACK... and with that possibly being the case identifying with the Republicans isn't in their best interests just yet.

I think black men are leaving because they identify with the "tough guy" image the Republicans have cultivated... it feeds the bravado and machismo associated with being manly, and it seems that there's no single ethnic group that wants to be associated with that "harder than concrete" persona more than black men.

Throw in other factors, like the black man's acceptance into the bedrooms of other ethnicities, their women seemingly being more able to accept a less dominant/more feminine role in a relationship, the idea of being seen as a "free thinker", the less flashy, less bragadocious (sp?) nature of the Democratic party, it just leads to a negative outlook on what it means to be a Democrat.

No man wants to be seen as weak, and right now the general consensus associates being a pussy with being a Democrat.

Just my .02 cents...

There is a component that is attracted ro the trash talking and womanizing. Also (some) Black men feel unheard and unseen. They see Black women mentioned as a group and being given credit for the success of dems. It angers some who don't like seeing Black women as leaders. They see the lgbt given "tangibles" and get mad, even though those tangibles essentially just boils down to the rights and privileges straight folk already have. They don't recognize any benefits that doesn't mention them as a group.

Instead of joining or starting an organization and doing the work and becoming leaders themselves, they want to fuss and moan about others doing the work.

Many are single or single fathers not living with their children and their child's mother so they see care of the family as transactional - providing funds etc - instead of being fully immersed in full time care and rearing.

So Black men can sit back and afford to only care about what affects them directly. But Black women have to worry about themselves, their children and the men they love. They can't say eff everything until we get reparations because they have a 14 year old son and a 15 year old son they want to see make it out of a police encounter alive. As well as their partner or former partner who may provide financial or care giving support to the kids. They have a 16 or 21 or 25 year old daughter who might need reproductive care, or she may need so herself. Care of children and elders mostly fall on women so having health care, child care, safety nets etc matter. What the kids are learning or being prevented from learning, women mostly have to deal with. Living wages matter. The less they make the more they have to work so that's more time they are away from their kids.

Some women will get caught up in the rhetoric, but fewer women will be led astray because women have to view the big picture, be practical and worry about more than ourselves.

I think one of the main reasons black folk wouldn't vote for Trump is because he's the candidate that the klan and other useless cacs love.
Outside of the rhetoric, how has trumps economic and social policies hurt or helped black people during his time In office and how has bidens economic and social policies hurt or helped black people?
Specific emphasis on enacted POLICIES not personality.
Personal examples are welcome as well.

This is a cac using a Black man’s photo to post racist trash. Typical tactic done by right wingers

He acts like a mental patient. He lost his friends and family because of the MAGA shit. The other day he was ranting about his mother putting him up for adoption and if she would have been brainwashed by the liberals he wouldn't have been born because she would have aborted him. He's most definitely a crack baby.

That info is readily available but it won't change anything with these MAGA clowns.

I agree with you but it's not all of us. I am the head of my house hold. I could use a GOP tax cut but it will hurt my people which in turn hurts me. Some black and white men want hand outs. Some white men want white privilege back. Some black men want stimees. Neither look at the long game but will be affected the most. LGBT ain't getting shit but rights to be married and health insurance from their partner. All married people get that. But GOP tells them to focus on what they don't have and hate somebody for that. The GOP has never done shit for people other than the rich. They cater to white supremist and male chauvinist. Strip women of their rights and criminalize Black males.
