there's one in each block. folks who took the legal route waited long time to get licenses paid for lawyers,lengthy paperwork etc....are pissed
MFrs trying to calculate what percentage of your net worth they can fleece you out of when it's time to up that initial rent amount.
Honestly, what can be done to combat stuff like this?
Right now nothing. Land lords are trying to get the best tenant they can find now. It takes a year an a half to two years to get a non paying tenant out. Even when you're close to getting them out, here comes the "one shot deal" then you have to deal with that same tenant that you know can't afford the rent again. Land lords are not taking that chance anymore, especially after Covid.
The lady that rents out apartments for my family and my uncle's ask for pay stubs, drivers license, passports and she wants the names and phones numbers of the last two Land lords you lived under. She wants to talk to them to find out if you were a good tenant or not.
That tweet is extreme, but I after years of seeing my family deal with rotten tenants i understand why they are doing it.
