Bickerstaff on threats: Betting has gone 'too far'

Cavaliers coach J.B. Bickerstaff says sports betting has "gone too far" and that he's reported threatened by gamblers to the NBA. "It is a dangerous game" he said.

I've been saying this shit for the better part of a decade. Pete Rose got kicked outta baseball for gambling. A certain NBA player (who's name can't be mentioned, less it invokes an evil spirit into the thread) had his name dragged thru the mud because of gambling.

Nowadays there are events sponsored by Draftkings, Adam Silver is desperate to get a team in Vegas, the league is working on integration of betting into live games, and NOT A SINGLE COMMERCIAL BREAK is aired without at least one gambling ad.

The shit has gone too far!

Fuckin Sixers season is an absolute waste once Embiid went down.

Even that 70 point game he had this season was honestly cringe to sit thru. So many phantom foul calls when your 7 footer damn near does a backflip when a 6'2" defender slightly touched his foreman.

We got a nice squad coming together this year. Maxey is breaking out, Buddy was a great pickup, and we finally got Kyle in Philly jersey. None of that matters if the the person in the driver's seat is 7ft flopper / Joker dodger.

It would have to be bron imo, taking into account age and the high level of play at this age I can't imagine too many guys are working harder. The amount of games played and deep playoff runs since the age of 18 has to have put immense wear on his body and he's still in peak shape and one of the top players in a league of young guys who's dads he played against back in the day. Not to mention he has his hands in a lot of other ventures that I'm sure need a certain amount of time and effort, yet basketball never needs to not be a priority.

I'm sure guys like jimmy butler, giannis, Joel, are all up there as well.

Between the amount of gambling in sports and videogames this country is raising future generations of degenerate gamblers and it's sickening. Our government can't pass a single law or get anything done that benefits us but they sure do have an easy time making things sweet for the rich and destroying the future for upcoming generations!

I'm starting to notice those state licensed lottery slot machines popping up in a lot of mom&pop type shops or 7/11 type convenient stores.

I'm seeing the same old heads on those machines at 7am and 7pm. I'm wondering if they ever leave. They be posted up in the stores like kids in the 80s dropping $10 of quarters in less than 15 minutes. The government is straight preying on vulnerable people and turning them into degenerate gamblers.

You’re talking about professional athletes gambling and one gambling on his own team. That’s much different than the general public gambling.
