Jesus Shannon Sharpe has 140,000 watching his interview with Mo'Nique

Shannon story makes me think about all the young dudes who have modern technology, opportunities, etc at their hand but just sit around and complain. Talk about the man and blah blah holding them back. My father grew up like Shannon and all them went to college for a better life. Folks don't have no dam excuse in 2024 not to do something. People say slavery was over in 1865 but you got a 50 year old dude who was share cropping as a kid. Its still like that in some places in the USA.

I get what you're saying, but homie won the genetic lottery. Is Club Shay Shay what it is without his football career? You definitely have to get off your shoulders and put in work, but without football Shannon and his brother are still share cropping.

Yup.

What’s sad though there still parts of the rural south where people don’t have access to the internet in 2024.

That’s why I get mad at some of the youth in DC. When I moved to DC, I was like damn you have so much access to tons of resources and programs. Whether it’s the $10 K if you got to college or trade school or the fact you can go to any college in the USA and pay in state tuition is just mind blowing. I’m speaking from someone who grew up in the south.

See how you're missing the point? Back in the day there were tons of Shannons who didn't play football. At 18 they left and went to the HBCU and got educated. Did they have money? No they didn't they used loan money to get through school. My father was from the backwoods like Shannon. Heck his road is still a dirt road till this day. No a street light in sight but those people left and went to college. You stuck on the football aspect but I'm talking about when Blacks had nothing but left to become something. In 2024 young Blacks have all the opportunity at their finger tips and don't take advantage of it. Then complain about the man.

Yep in the city you can at the minimum go to the public library to have access to the internet. You can go to the Workforce commission and use the computer. They will help you get a resume and help with job resources. You're so right about college or trade school. Its so many community colleges around that don't cost shit and a lot of times you can get free tuition. I got my 2nd degree back in 2008 at a local community college. My tuition out of district was $800 a semester for a full load of classes. That community college hosted job fairs and had a good job board.

...missing the point??? I said I got what you were saying! How the fcuk did I miss the point when I got the point? I was adding that football provided these careers after football. He didn't get hired by NASA after he retired from football. Let's be realistic...Club Shay Shay is not the same show it was a year ago. When it first started it was in the same lane as Undisputed. Now it is messy people talking shyt to a pseudo-journalist.

We are talking about two DIFFERENT things. You said yourself that I am talking about Shannon and football...cause that's what the thread is about! I replied to your post ABOUT Shannon and football. YOU are in a thread about Shannon Sharpe talking about EVERY other young black person not taking advantage of opportunities and complaining...which I ?uestion your motives as I doubt you've met EVERY black youth in 2024 to make such a bold claim. Since you want to compare a person that is obviously exceptional against normal people

Share cropping really? That's a low blow man.
