Shogun - New Mini-Series Debut On FX

I started rereading the book & rewatching the old series this weekend.

I love that this series starts off within the first 3 minutes making a HUGE difference from both the old sources. That's always a great way to show up that even if you know the story, they're doing things differently here.

Got Hulu just for this show.....so far it's fire.....didn't think I would have to see commercials tho....guess I need the gold package..lol

The Disney Hulu bundle is the best package out there. The ad free package runs about $28 after tax and if you have a amex card you can get $7 off the subscription s month.
I don't know if this is an honest conversation between members or an ad inserted by the AI bots to look like a conversation.

Fucking ChatGPT bots are inserting ad 'conversations' and 'news articles' everywhere.

:roflmao:

You also don’t need Hulu. I’m watching on YouTube tv. You can watch it in 4K and in English with the replay

In ep. 2, they wanted to was Anjin and he was like "two baths in the same week?". Almost expected him to say "my natural oils will take care of all that! Ha, wait until I tell my concubine back home...Zazie about this!!"

They need to renew this show for like a minimum 5 seasons. This is the only show I watch on FX

In the original it wasn't dubbed and there were no subtitles.

In this version there are subtitles.

In 1980 version?

This new version.
The 1980 version and the book are both great introductions to basic Japanese. The lack of subtitles was used to teach the audience along with Blackthrone the essentials of Japanese language and culture.

I guess they made the logical decision with this one that no subtitles would drive modern audiences crazy. People don't want to learn while watching TV anymore.

I already heard one guy at work complain about reading the subtitles. Modern audiences are lazy a.f.
