THE WRESTLING THREAD: BROCK LESNAR HAS ENTERED THE CHAT!!!

So I'm headed to Greensboro (my hometown) this weekend for AEW Revolution.
Looking forward to seeing Sting's last match, how it's handled, and just the environment of having such a large crowd.
I haven't been to a wrestling show at the Greensboro Coliseum since the late 90s.
I'm going with a couple of lapsed wrestling fans who don't really keep up with wrestling anymore but just want to see Sting and Ric Flair.
I'll be interested to see how much of the show they end up liking as lapsed fans and if they like it enough to keep watching the product moving forward.

Yeah. it really made no sense. I mean, had they waited a couple weeks and had Hangman off Dynamite for a few episodes, the injury angle "could have" maybe made a little sense. Play into the sympathies crowd, etc.... But doing it a week after, made no sense booking/writing wise.

I would consider Becky Lynch (when Charlotte isn't around) to be WWE's women's division ACE.

Rhea Ripley (currently) is arguably the face of the company (ACE of WWE) overall.

I guess we'll find out at Wrestlemania who the company considers to be their top female talent.
However, I feel like Becky's popularity has dipped a bit over the past couple of years while Rhea's popularity has skyrocketed.
WWE pretty much filled an entire stadium this past weekend based on Rhea's name alone.

Yeah. Like @EPDC said Rhea is the face of the whole company if not the business right now.

I think Rhea beats Becky at Mania. WWE looks to be wanting to break records and might want Rhea to be the dominant women's champion of all time. Basically erasing the past, doing to Moolah what Roman is doing to Hogan's record.

Charlotte may have the total wins record, but Rhea will be the most dominant woman (champion) of all time if things continue to trend the way they have.

She should be in the discussion. Like I said, arguably....

Roman isn't there enough to be the face of the company.

Cody is SUPER OVER, but it's all tied to Roman and his quest.

I just see Rhea as being more of a force than Cody, plus she's still young as fuck. Also, Rhea has a bigger following on Social Media compared to Cody, so her being pushed out there as a face of the company, not just the women's division, makes sense.

At the moment it Rhea, but WWE's longterm women star implant has been Charlotte Flair for about a decade. Some years she doesn't even wrestle or appear on TV until Mania season.
 
So Okada is debuting next week on Dynamite. I also heard AEW will be unveiling a brand new set next week. They should use that first Dynamite after "Revolution" as a reset point and consistently make each show good to great going forward. Want to bring in more viewers? Every show needs to be on point from here on out. No more lazy booking and half ass presentation.

He's always been a continuity guy with a good memory. Not a lot of folks have that. But that is cool to see.


If any one needs a good laugh. Laugh at Haku laughing at the debut of the Shockmaster. I gotta add, "Swimming for the gimmick." in a real life conversation now.

 
Garcia's ceiling is mid card champion. He'll win either the TNT, International, or the Continental Triple Crown belt at some point in his career but he'll never be World Champ.

 
That would be amazing to see. Although I think Samoa Joe will retain this Sunday I do think he'll drop the belt at some point this summer. Hopefully TK crowns Swerve then. Would cool to see him main event "All In" against one of the three O's. Omega, Okada or Ospreay.

Happy I got to see Sting twice if I remember. Sting and Cactus Jack were in the main event during one of the shows we went to. My big brother said we should leave because they might start fighting in the crowd and I didn't get to see the match. Still mad about that shit today.
