I'm just stating facts when I say the TKO stock has gone up despite all the recent controversies.
If that gets you triggered into a rant about Hogan, then that's on you.
Being a member of the "Morality Police" in wrestling (an industry known to be sleazy with a history of known racists, drunks, drug users, steroid abuser, wife beaters, etc.) is kinda laughable to me.
You really think all your favorite Japanese wrestlers don't hold prejudiced views towards black people? LOL

What? Brother do you have me confused with @Mastermind2002? When have I gone on about Japanese wrestlers? Did I bring up you and TKO stock? Did you read my post or just stopped at my Hogan "rant"? :giggle: Now I did bring up the "playing chess..." line and at the time I posted I didn't know exactly who posted it, just that I had read on this page. So not so much Morality Police (although I hear their benefits package is OUTSTANDING!) I can't bring myself to cheer their successes. Not on some hatred shyt, all these pluses for WWE good for them, but this is STILL a piece of shyt company.

Also I have been critical of NJPW and their fanbase when MVP was talking about getting groped by dudes when he was in NJPW.

So WWE keeps winning even when they're losing? You cats will "defend" this company through their worse actions! Hogan goes on a racists rant about a black dude his daughter is dating. Uses the excuse that he had heard the word all his life, been called it, by other black people. But used a hard R when referring to the dude. WWE keeps bringing him back. The owner is more sleazy than his character on TV and THAT is saying something. The only reason that he didn't go that far or hasn't continued that character is due to rating and financial motivations. This blind loyalty of "WWE playing chess while everybody else is playing <insert childlike game>" is pretty fcuked up!

I get separating the art from the artist, but Jesus, the cheerleading is worse than the delusions of the other side that ya'll complain about!!!
Not sure what you’re talking about. I don’t see anyone cheerleading WWE just not dick riding anything the opposite of it.

Not only that but Vince and Hulk are so far removed from WWE lol…when the last time you seen Hogan in WWE? And if anything that was Vince bringing him back.

When people say WWE wins even when they lose it’s facts. This ain’t no gossip rag shit WWE stock has gone up since the merger. It may hurt to hear but it’s facts.

Why yes, yes I can think critically. Can you point to a time that I wasn't?
Your claim of cats defending WWE while we point out facts (their business decisions) is an example of you choosing not to think critically and instead think with your bias.
Yep, a billion dollar company is still able to endure and financially have a good week despite sex trafficking allegations. The same billion dollar company that loves to use sambo-like personas (words I believe you used for New Day) for their black characters. Who would employ rapists, racists even murderers. The same company that has no problem culture vulturing the very best of our culture for everyone that isn't Black....Did anyone really expect THIS would bring the WWE down? A majority of their fan base don't care about anything I just mentioned and will overlook all of what I said as long as the next Great White Hope gets the belt.
Again, see above. A lot of us "WWE fans" in this board have called WWE out for a lot of their treatment of Black wrestlers. I've been saying for years that the New Day shit is shucking and jiving. Yet when I also call the shit Prince Nana does on AEW as shucking and jiving too, some put on their AEW capes and defend it.
That is a wrestling heads job. New news breaks, their job is to cover it...that's what News does. New developments break with Vince they'll talk about that again. Something happens with Rock/Roman/Cody again, guess what? They'll talk about that too. You aren't gonna get much traction if you only talk about one story as other stories occur.
And WWE's job is to make sure their stockholders are happy and they control the narrative of the news. Again, WWE did what was best for their business by making wresting and main steam journalist turn their attention to Rock/Cody/Roman and away from the ugly Vince sex trafficking story. Can you blame WWE for wanting to do this?
Losing makes it seem like something was taken away. Netflix deal, former wrestlers returning, TKO deal, stock on the rise, Rock becoming apart of the board. They lost Vince... A piece of shyt octogenarian. Pretty sure this isn't a "loss"! If anything this is forced retirement! Or maybe we just have different definitions of loss. But I am interested in what YOU think they loss.
They lost a lot of public trust yet continued to gain in viewership, sales and stock prices. Again, winning while losing.

Fuck Cody, dude has lost 3 singles matches since he's been back from the pec injury. No one cries about him being shoved down our throats like Roman. This dude is beating everyone, clean. Fuck outta here. They've made him superhero status, he can miss this Mania main event. We've been wanting this Rock/Roman match for years. Roman story ain't over for you to finish yours.

If you pull back the curtain on pretty much any large corporation whether it's Amazon, Google, NFL, etc. you're going to see a lot of shitty things you wish you hadn't known about. That's just the nature of Big Business.
Every other wrestling promotion has their dirt too, just not on the level of the WWE because they're not as large and have not been around as long.
But I get it, when you hate a company and everything they stand for your viewpoint of that company will be skewed.
I'm kind of the same way when it comes to Apple and how they do business. LOL

Again, if you're looking to be chief of the Morality Police then maybe the wrestling business ain't for you.

"Defend" was in quotes, so you're taking it in a literal sense. I was referring to the "winning while losing" line. They aren't losing anything My "bias" is based on fact. They are a piece of shyt company.

Well, you and I are having a conversation. Don't bring others into this. If you've seen my post defending AEW, call me out! You're not going to find that. Sure earlier on BEFORE they showed their hand, but I have been equally critical of AEW, but SURPRISE you don't reply to those posts. So do you keep your WWE bias in check? Now, you'll say that you're not a fan of AEW, matter of fact you go out of your way to troll AEW fans here. But your biases are in check though.

Dude! if you think they lost public trust, you're the delusional one here! Apologies, because maybe I don't know what you mean by public trust...cause viewership is not down. Parents still take their kids to their shows. Women aren't leaving en masse in light of these allegations. If you would be so kind what do you mean by public trust and examples of that trust being lost?

Rock vs Roman was always the plan as I expected. The match was suppose to happen last year, but Cody was the backup. Now the match is workable for Rock they are doing it this year.

The part with Cody winning Rumble is confusing though unless Punk was suppose to win.

Hope WWE is gonna make some compelling television from all of this main stream coverage.

Nothing adds up to say it was all pre planned. Vince's lawsuit surely has had something to do with their pivot. Maybe the Rock wasn't sure his schedule was gonna be free or who knows. If the Rock can't get into decent enough ring shape (dude was blown up in the little bit against Jinder) then adding Cody into the fold will probably be the best outcome even if you don't factor in the story.

LISTEN HERE BROTHER...Sorry, LET ME TELL YA' MEAN @XXXplosive...Okay, serious!

We aren't talking about Amazon, Google, etc... This is the wrestling thread. So here we're talking AEW, Impact, NJPW, Stardom and WWE. I am well aware of what businesses have to do in order to become Big Business. Just when here you can shyt on everything you don't like, but catch holy hell when you shyt on something that everyone else likes. Excuses, strawman arguments, everything BUT the thing you like is a shytty place to work, or watch entertainment from a shytty company. You mention Apple, what happens when you mention that you don't like Apple for whatever reason? You get a bunch of Apple consumers that defend them. So what's the difference between them and Apple and you and WWE?

I don't want to come off that I am this morally high person that every Monday refuses to watch WWE. I still watch RAW and SmackDown when I can. That doesn't change the fact that they are a shytty company that doesn't deserve your admiration. BUT I am TOTTALY stealing that Chief of Morality Police! I wonder if HNIC will change my Investor block or my Star status? 0utsyder Chief of Morality Police. Here to steer you clear of all immorality.

Yeah it DOES add up that this could have been planned.

The Rock on Pat Mcafee's show LAST YEAR admitted Rock vs Roman was talked about for Hollywood WrestleMania 39, but the story or creative wasn't right. When Rock said this online and critics were expecting that MAYBE it would happen this year and pondered what would happen with Cody Rhodes.

Cody Rhodes even addressed it.

Appearing on Busted Open today (Nov. 13), Rhodes said he respects The Rock and would love to have him on the card in Philly. But he’s not worried about The Great One, the Megastar, or anyone else preventing from trying to finish the story. Asked about Johnson’s claim on Pat McAfee’s show that he was at one point “locked” in as Roman’s challenger at WrestleMania 39 before teasing he could fill that role at next year’s ‘Mania, Cody replied:

“I’ll say this about The Rock coming on Pat — which I was watching live because I love Pat — and then SmackDown and all this. The Rock did for sports entertainment so, so much and continues to do so much by being the biggest star in Hollywood that I’m able to be at the level I’m at because I can stand on shoulders like those of The Rock. So he could have come on there and run me down and I still would have the highest respect for The Great One. He’s honestly a model superstar for anybody who wants to just supersede all expectations.
“With that said though, no matter what he said, anyone who did ask me, anyone who did confront me on it — I said I’m not flinching. I’m not flinching. And I feel like if The Rock and I were in the same room, he would expect nothing less from me. If you think it’s somebody else, I’m going to do everything I can to make sure you know it’s me. And that’s the same attitude that The Rock had when he was climbing the ladder.
“I don’t care who it is. If that happens to be The Rock, if that happens to be anybody who comes into this fray. A wonderful superstar like LA Knight. An absolutely stellar performer like Sami Zayn, who him and I went toe-to-toe in a way last year. Line ‘em up and I’m just going to do everything I can to outrun them. I certainly am. And I mean that with the utmost respect to them. I wasn’t shook at all by Rock’s big day out. What I would say is: not flinching.
“If Rock’s part of WrestleMania 40, that would be outstanding. He should be. It’s The Rock. But I don’t think he’ll be in my spot.”

Then The Rock appears ON RAW Day 1 and CHALLENGES ROMAN.

You think they would do that if they didn't know the match was coming? They do this as apart of the build for RR AND WM. The Rock then says he wants to sit at the head of the table.

The Rock is then announced being at the table with TKO board of directors.

Now remember Cody's reaction LAST YEAR and look how he ends up giving the title shot to Rock because he had "counsel" with the guy wanting to be the head of the table.

They knew of the match happening BEFORE the Vince news broke out.

This definitely needs to be addressed by WWE in how they book the match.
You're right, The Rock was blown the fuck up in just that little bit of physicality with Jinder.
I know WWE is not looking for a 5-star classic, but how is The Rock going to pull off a half way decent match if he's gassed in less than 2 minutes?
The Rock doesn't have to worry about cardio for his Hollywood roles, he just has to look good. Pause :hmm:

My suggestion would be to have The Rock as a special guest referee in Cody vs. Roman and then The Rock can have some kind of gimmick no DQ match in Saudi or wherever after that against Roman where cardio won't be as much an issue.

Lolz Bad Bunny went a full 25 minutes with Damien Priest.

Rock is a former high level athlete, pro wrestler and bodybuilder. He also has months to get into ring ready shape.

Although I don't expect Rock to pull off a 25 minute classic against Roman, I can see him getting into good enough "ring" shape for a Main Event show against Roman. Then again, like I said earlier, I think WrestleMania plays out a few different ways, Rock being the Special Guest referee not allowing Roman to cheat OR Rock/Roman have a quick match Night One.

Like you, I think he may be the special referee and then we get Rock/Roman at SummerSlam instead, giving Dwayne more time to be ring ready plus an additional four months (after mania) to promote the big Head of the Table match.

Bad Bunny isn't running around with 100's of pounds of muscle! Swinging that weight around gasses you out. Bad Bunny has a more aerobic build versus the Rock and muscles need air. Who will do a concert of bouncing around across a big ass stage. Between the two of them Bad Bunny is in better shape for a wrestling match.

Dunno.

Was goofing off on Reddit & came across it.

I'll see what pops up in the image search later today & get you some references.

Good point, but I still think Rock will be OK, given his training regiment and background. Match will probably be a 10-15 minute rumble....that's including Roman's and Rock's entrance lolz..

Rock trains for muscle building, not for cardio. Big difference.
How many bodybuilders do you know that are good at any other sport? Rock is essentially a Hollywood bodybuilder now.
And every wrestler says that the only way to get into ring shape is to actually be in the ring, not in a weight room.

If it wasn't a guy that's been at thee pinnacle of pro wrestling, sure...the Rock knows what it takes to get in shape man. He hasn't lost that & I'm pretty sure he's got it all mapped out. They got this all mapped out. It's no coincidence that Jacob is a free agent now. Roman told y'all this is filet mignon, you getting the good stuff. Just sit tight.

He will be ready for a quick match. I see it like the Goldberg Brock match at WrestleMania a few years ago, it went like 6-7 minutes of hard hitting action before they went home.

Roman is a good enough wrestler to carry the Rock.

This dude is 50 and juiced to the gills!!! Unless he's done with the action movies, he's not going to be dropping muscle to properly get in-ring shape. He's gonna look like Hogans loose skin having ass

Bad Bunny will do a 45min to an hour concert bouncing around a stage he's in better shape for a wrestling match. Now the moveset for some wrestlers he wouldn't be able to do, but they put him in a match that would complement him.

I don't know why, but seeing this reminds me of Joshi/Japanese wrestling.... Lolz at the over exaggerated reaction.... Such a strange culture...

Can Alverez be a credible source for this?! Someone could've said that in a crowd and he'll run with that shyt!
