I feel for players like Halliburton and other who stand to lose 50 MIL+ over the current game missed minimal in the CBA deal. And I'm sure that the new CBA deal will make some changes. However, ....

Take basketball out of the equation. What job can you show up to a 3rd of the time and still get full benefits?
If you were a plumber contracted for 82 days and you only showed up to work on 60, you expect to be named Employee of the Month?

Don't answer that cause you're not a plumber anymore. You're actually a manager at (insert anything here) and you just landed a huge 82 date per year, multiple year deal. Problem is, year 1 one of the people on your team only worked 65/82 of the dates.

They're an amazing worker though. Easily worth 4 of your other workers. You'd might even call this person your, 'MVP'. But year 1 was 65/82, year 2 was 69/82 and year 3 was surprisingly 74/82.

How do you as the manager, pay that person? Do you feel good in year 3 that you got 74 out of the 82 contracted days, I mean that is 'progress' from yr 1&2?

Tonight's games got me feeling sorry for fanbases that I absolutely shouldn't be giving any fucks about.

The racist assholes and dickheads of Boston and Utah respectively paid their hard earned money to come out tonight and yell the N word at Lebron, AD, & Embiid. Only to find out right before tip off that none of those players would be on the court to hear those N-words.

Okay so you're a red hat wearing racist and your favorite player to hate on isn't there. Well easy bet for the home team, you think. Maybe you can make some of that money back since you're most likely not seeing any marquee names that you paid for.

Oh wait, both the Jazz and the Celtics lost tonight despite the opposition missing their star player.

Boston should not have lost tonight to the Lakers scrubs. But you could clearly see since LeBron wasn't out there, they didn't give a lot of effort. Had he played I promise you the Celtics would've showed up. NBA players save their best for the GOAT.

@KingTaharqa - Since your passion is sociological assessments of Bron fandom- if this happened overnight, what do you imagine my reaction would be?

IMG-1812.jpg

First reaction? Prolly make LeBron the fall guy of your losing team. :dunno: Bron has already gone to a rivals team and won them a championship. Been there done that. At this point he deserves to play for a fan base that doesn't have a sect of fans with ready made agendas and won't be insecure about his stardom overshadowing their past stars.

It also might make you think Memphis knows something his injury and him long term

He's 30 now...he already has no offense.
Just like the league knew something about Cam Whitmore and his injury long term...?

I'll take my chances. I don't need significant minutes outta him, give Sengun a little relief and help him out against the bigger lineups (NOLA, MINNY, PHILA) and we're good.

2nd round picks are expendable when you own Brooklyn first round picks for the next few years (thanks James Harden)... so sending those packaged with Oladipo bum ass to Memphis is good in my books.

Unpopular opinion .... Houston is full of young immature players and Steven Adams is a proven lockeroom vet. I think the trade might be good for both parties.

It's the reason players like UD, DJ, Jared Dudley or Vince Carter played for so long and for so many teams. Sometimes you need a veteran voice more than a another young 3&D wing who giving barely 15 points a night.

Memphis wasn't moving the needle w/o Ja anyway :dunno:

Sometimes you need to be good for players to listen and respect you

I like the trade also. Rockets are doing things the right way.

I wouldn't get so happy...look at Brandon Roy

As long as my three favorite players were on the team, I would want LeBron to win with them.

It is all conjecture though, at least this season:

Eh, nobody owes Joel Embiid an apology for him being a grown man and putting himself at risk because some people were criticizing him. Ironic that LeBron put MAN in all caps-- Embiid should have been a MAN and carried on with his business.

I agree with the first tweet calling out the bullshit take industry.
