TV SHOWS / SERIES - Seen any good ones lately? Please feel free to post reviews / feedback / trailers / articles / TV news / all that shit ...

in the 1982 season some 37 actors were hired for free-lance parts in "Cheers." Only one was black, and he was seen in one episode. All the other episodes were free of blacks. All the regulars in "Cheers" are white.

During the 1983 season, in the 18 shows produced, three performers were black of 58 free-lance actors hired. I wondered if they counted one black in a show I'd seen who was moving through the bar with the speed of a perpetrator. I didn't even get to see his face in the four seconds he was on.

At the 1 minute mark there's a black person in the background behind Woody's shoulder.

The Outer Limits
1963 - 1965

PlutoTV has all episodes from both seasons on its service.

I been watching a episode or two a day since earlier this month.

I used to watch this series back in the 80s but forgot them, so rewatching them now since there ain’t shit else on that’s new.

A lot of the stories are way ahead of their time. The series is also full of well known actors who were at the start of their careers and still unknown.

Another thing I have noticed is how multi-cultural some of the episodes are with non-white characters in syringe positive roles. I don’t think any Hollywood production during this time period was like how this series is done.

Also, the series has one of the best and iconic openings in TV history.

I am halfway thru season one, I plan on getting both seasons completed by the end of January 2024 hopefully.

Synopsis
"There is nothing wrong with your television set." That famous line opens each episode of the classic science fiction anthology series as part of a narration that makes people think their TVs are being controlled.

Episodes of the series, which numbered 49 over the course of two seasons, range from a mix of sci-fi and horror that feature "scary monster" motifs to episodes focused on the sci-fi aspects of the stories.

Episode writers include such notables as series creator Leslie Stevens and Harlan Ellison.
