I can't believe that anyone is trying to ride Trump's nuts on the economy, one of the few things that is considerably and demonstrably better under Democrat control.
The economy does so well under Democrat control that the Trump/GOP narrative had to be that the reports lie, unless they say nice things while they are in office.
The only positive traction that the GOP got while in control of the Senate was that bullshit "tax cut" that was actually a short-term leverage that needed to be paid back later (much later, as they knew by the time it was due, they would be out of power and could blame others for it). The only exception to this was big businesses, who just got cuts straight up with no penalties or conditions.
TL;DR: The only way Republicans "win" at the economy is if you believe that big corporations stealing more money from our broke asses is a win. And I seriously question the intelligence of anyone willing to make that argument.
