Hollywood Biz: Byron Allen Offers to Buy BET From Paramount Global for $3.5 Billion

I'm going to ask a few questions.

Does Byron Allen do anything that encourages Black business growth? Does his acquisitions benefit Black folks in a meaningful way? Or, do they just benefit him?

I'm asking because I legitimately do not know. Maybe someone on the board can enlighten me.

I would love for a Black man to buy BET, then get rid of all of the content that is nonsense. I'd like to see them add creative shows that we can get behind. I can only speak for myself, but I'm tired of the ratchedness, and I'm tired of the LGBTQ+ bullshit. I don't want to see shit like "Black Housewives from Hell" or "Black Down Low Brothers on the Come Up." :dunno:

Paramount Global is also in talks to to possibly Merge with Warner Bros Discovery...
Get Ready for another streaming App... Paramount MAX...

Both companies are in debt... (As of the end of Q3, Paramount Global reported long-term debt of $15.6 billion, considerably less than WBD — whose debt load stood at $43.5 billion.)

If a merger goes through Paramount might sell off assets like BET...

On the film side, Warner Bros. Discovery would acquire top-tier properties from Paramount Pictures, including such film franchises as Terminator, Transformers, Mission: Impossible, Top Gun, A Quiet Place, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Godfather, Paranormal Activity, Scream and Star Trek film franchises. The Warner Bros. Pictures stable includes the DC Extended Universe films, Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings movie franchises.

A merged WBD-Paramount Global would also be expected to combine their TV operations. Warner Bros. Discovery’s cable lineup includes CNN, HBO, TNT, TBS, Discovery Channel, Cartoon Network, Food Network, HGTV, TLC and others. Paramount’s networks include CBS, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon and BET. Also this week, media mogul Byron Allen reached out to Paramount’s top brass to extend a $3.5 billion offer to buy BET Media Group, which includes BET, VH1 and the BET+ streaming service.

I was watching a show about Arsenio Hall, one of the tactics they would use is banning celebrities from appearing on the much bigger Johnny Carson show if they did an appearance on the Joan Rivers show. It worked and her show tanked and went off air.

It is the same thing with BGOL, if you appear on here as an influencer, you get banned.

I also suspect they want to have us on their platforms to control what we say, control what we hear.
