2025 College Football Football thread

1. Michigan
2. Washington
3. Georgia
4. FSU

I think you have to put Georgia in they are a 2 time defending champ, had a 29 game win streak, and only lost by 3. I want Alabama in but this playoff committee hasn't liked Alabama this year. If Bama is in you have to put Texas in. But I think the 4 best teams are Michigan, Alabama, Georgia, and Washington.

Why not? They’re SEC champs who loss 1 game at the beginning of the year:confused:

When you lose matters. Texas loss to Oklahoma who isn’t top 10, Also Alabama is a much better team now. You can’t keep winners of the best conference out the playoffs :dunno:

Nah I don't see Bama jumping Texas who has been ahead of them all season, beat them and also won their conference in a blowout, if anything I see them screwing Texas by leaving both Texas and Bama out because they can't justify putting Bama in over Texas

I understand what you're saying, but it would be INSANE to leave TWO 1 loss Power 5 conference champions out. And in favor of WHO? There is absolutely no way they sneak Georgia in there over Bama, just because they don't wanna upset Texas.

It's really an impossible decision because each fan base that the Committee is going to potentially screw is powerful and has a legit argument.

It should be:

(1) Michigan
(2) Washington
(3) Florida State
(4) Texas

That's it. That's all.
I agreen with you, but then I started thinking about one thing I hate about College football...Realignment.

I like the old rivals and over the years teams have moved from one conference to another for a larger portion of television revenue.

And because of this don't be surprised that they will be sitting in that room trying hard to get ALABAMA in the 4th spot.

The committee is thinking that Alabama is going to be good for the television ratings (they won't tell you that, but say well Georgia was undefeated and number 1#, they won the SEC, the Texas defeat was earlier in the season).

Florida State will probably get "jerked."

I disagree Alabama just beat the number 1 team in the country on a 28 game win issues have No issued putting them over Texas. That game was week 2 this is a different Alabama team. I think Bama is better then Michigan Washington FSU and Texas

And this is coming from a PSU Big 10 guy

Them putting 1 loss Bama in over Texas (and jumping them) would be like them saying head to head wins mean nothing. If they're saying that, then why even play the games at all?

The only thing they can really do is put them both in and somehow jerk FSU like 11/17 mentioned.

Someone on another board brought up a good point as to why they HAVE to let FSU in: if they don't, then they risk not having an undisputed championship. Which is the whole point.

So then it really does come down to Texas and Bama.

Bama gets in just on the strength they beat Georgia at the end of the year…

Georgia gets in because they’re Thugga

Washington hands down

Michigan hands down

Keep them down south teams, a Midwest teams and west coast team…

Damn smh the pac best year is when the best teams are leaving

Bama vs Washington
Michigan vs Georgia

Bama vs Georgia with Bama winning

I remember in 2021, when the committee still put Georgia in the playoffs even after they lost the SEC title game to Alabama.....they droppepd from No.1 to No.4
So if they made that decision then, why not now? Keep that same energy......lol

i have a feeling that they gonna leave FSU out despite being undefeated and being ACC champs. I feel for them.....

I just took a look at the 2021 rankings and the only team with a (weak) argument that year was 1-loss Notre Dame who was left out.

This year is a totally different animal.

Georgia and Alabama are not getting in at the same time. Hell it’s a chance both of them may not make it in.

I don't think the committee can use Georgia wins from last year to determine this years seeding, Bama has been suspect all season that's why they've been ranked in the 8th-11th spot but just managed to pull off wins including the Georgia win so they are still the same team that Texas beat in week 2, they might be better than FSU but no way you can say they're better than Michigan, Washington and Texas

"If they really want the four best teams to compete," he said, then Alabama will be in the playoff.

"We beat the No. 1 team in the country, and they won 29 straight games," Saban said. "If we needed to do something to pass the eye test, I would guess that probably contributed to it significantly."

OSU games have been the highest rated game this year.

Either both Texas and Bama get in or neither team gets in and they go with Michigan, Washington, FSU and GEORGIA

Next year would be a lot better with the expanded playoff team platform, but good grief this is a mess this year
