It's not a protest vote. Being against genocide and a racist corporate military state isn't a protest vote, stop minimization the pathway of finding real justice in the United States and finding equal treatment under the law. Because I don't favor a donkey and a elephant doesn't mean another animal would not do the job.

Local elections are one thing. When it comes to the presidential election, if the person you are voting for isn't on the ballot in all 50 states OR with a movement large and organized enough for a write in campaign, then you are basically just voting for a spoiler that doesn't actually have a chance of winning. Who it is meant to siphon votes from is determined by who the spoiler is meant to appeal to.

It may feel good to cast your vote a certain way, just like it did for folks around here in 2016. It led to the end of Roe, AA, inmates ability to get a retrial if new evidence of their innocence is revealed and emboldened racists across the board who want to ban our history, but at least Hillary wasnt in office, right? Generally the vote will come down to the dem or the GOP candidate. So call it what you want, but essentially your vote is helping one or the other get elected.

It used to didn't matter when both parties were sane. We'd be able to survive whomever was in power. But with these WS and Christian nationalists who are on record for their agenda and actively working to make it come to pass, imo that is no longer the case.

If by genocide you are referring to Israel and Palestine, Trump has already said they should flatten Palestine and ban any immigrants from Gaza. If you are referring to countries in Africa, we already know Trump calls those shithole countries and wanted to ban immigrants from there also. So the only chance of anyone getting aid from the US is if Trump loses and regardless of what is going on in the rest of the world, you and those you care about are affected here FIRST.

I respect your right to follow your conscience, I'm just asking you to consider all angles because it's not as black and white as it used to be.

I have my limits, I've been voting for the democraps since 1988: through Bill Clinton's crime bill/through Obama's continued attacks on Afghanistan and Syria & the toppling of Libya along with the assassination of Gaddafi. I've been there through all of it, & sometimes enough is enough. There has to been a different way rather pin-balling through the genocides of The West. & in general, the US war machine it never stops from way back in Korea to Vietnam to Afghanistan/Pakistan to Iraq to Syria to Gaza....the blood lust never stops. & I can no longer be a part of the empire that's destroying the world while democraps offer incremental change at home: the whole dayum thing is a ravenous pit of Hell. A new day must be had and a new way must be forged; however, thanks for your words, though.

Vote your conscience, but voting for someone you know isn't going to win is the definition of a protest vote.
 
It's funny that the don't vote crew can't just note vote themselves. They have to get everyone else to not vote.

I mean the main "don't vote" character in this thread said you could get the Republican party to support reparations by offering them "compromises and tradeoffs" - just that simple.
