Not for purchased and downloaded games. Subscription games possibly but I think as long as the subscription is active, the title will work as long as the account is still on the system.

Probably better to get him a ps5 game card. Yes you can pay and download it on your account (he'll still see the games when he logs in) if it's on the same machine, all accounts can play them.
Looking into buying my son a couple of digital PS5 games for Xmas, but obviously don't want him to get access to them in advance. After I purchase them, will they be visible to him, or only when I download them to the system? As a back-up, thinking I can potentially purchase them under my profile vs his.
So in short, at what point do games become visible on the PS5 after they are purchased?
I do believe you can only log into one account at a time, per machine. You always have your "main" machine. You can set it up. But you'd have to go back to the ps4 and once again make that the main. Don't turn the ps5 until you're ready to give it to him after it's set up. If that makes any sense

If you or them have the ps app, you might get a notification once you activate an account on the ps5. You can do setup (update the console, wifi, calibrations) with a dummy account. They'd only have to sign in when they get it. They're definitely going to get email from Sony when you put your account on a ps5. Throw away account is the way to go if you aren't needing to load up any games.
Cool cool. All his emails go to me since he’s a minor. I just didn’t want to set up today and box it back up and it say/show anything on his ps4 that indicates there is a ps5. I’ll log his account in when he actually gets it.
