7/10

I got home last night and wrapped up this series.

MAX had released 3 episodes a week and the last 3 debuted November 9th for a total of 12.

Each episode runs under 25 minutes.

It’s an interesting series. And it’s a slow burn series. Highly recommend not trying to binge it but spread your viewing out so you can soak it in.

The series revolves around 3 separate groups of characters on this mysterious planet they are marooned on.

One is a Black female and her robot.

The 2nd is a White Man and a Woman whose ethnicity I could not determine.

The 3rd is a a White man

Each group goes thru their experience on trying to get to the damaged ship, but going thru obstacles they encounter on this planet. Character backstory is spread throughout the series.

The planet is beyond weird. The series is littered with visuals of how unique and alive it is. I was thinking that maybe this series is on the level of the Beatles cult classic “Yellow Submarine” where you need to be high or drunk as Fuck to fully take in the experience.

At this time, no information on if there will be a 2nd season.

For the Gay Agenda Trackers, there is lesbian action with the Black female character told in a backstory.

If you looking for something different and way out past the left field foul line in the nose bleed seats…this is it.

Synopsis

The crew of a damaged deep space freighter are stranded on a beautiful but dangerous planet.

I may have to add this to my anime backlog after Blue Eye Samurai

Blue eyed samuria is worth the hype

modern day classic imo

apart from one crucial thing

they have it set up for sequels, when we know netflix
is just going to cancel it

they need to start telling stories in one season

With me and Netflix, I don’t get into a new series unless it’s been renewed for a 2nd season.

I been burned too many times. My final straw with them was with them cancelling “1899”.

That cancellation got them in big trouble with subscribers.

I have noticed this year they will put “Limited Series” when they debut something that they know before it debuts, that they ain’t gonna renew. Instead of releasing it and announcing it’s canceled a few days after it debuts.

Agreed. I lost interest in alot of the major networks' shows during the 2000s and 2010s for the same reason. Too many shows were getting cancelled left and right before being allowed to develop an audience, or stronger ratings / viewership numbers. What's the point of point of putting a "big new show" on the air and pulling it after 4 episodes?

I became much more inclined to listen to peoples' suggestions about stuff to watch on Cinemax, Showtime, HBO, Showcase, FX, etc. Networks that actually let their shows develop core fanbases over the course of 3, 5, 7 seasons ... despite them not being "ratings juggernauts" or huge ad-sellers in the space. Those premium networks knew that their shows had "watercooler talk" and were awards season darlings. They were the ones getting the Emmy and Golden Globe nominations and further driving people to their subscription-based premium network model, and good on them.

Hell ... we all know about all the old HBO shows that people still talk about to this day, or say they want to circle back to because they have heard ALL the praise about them. Stuff they didn't get around to then, but still want to see now (despite knowing many spoilers).

While the Rest of Us Die
2020
Season One

7.5/10

If you are a conspiracy head, this is a must see series you need to see. I watched it on tubi.

The premise of the series is to show you how much the US Government doesn’t give two Fucks about American citizens, regardless of race or class.

The series is 8 episodes that run about 40 minutes each on different topics.

The series covers the time period of post WWII up to the start of the Covid pandemic in 2020.

There is video that is shown that was never shown in news media on a few subjects.

A number of reputable experts in various fields share their insights and provide information on the topics discussed.

addition to what others listed

Vikings Valhalla
Blue Eye Samurai
Gen V
The English
Warrior
Juistified - City Primeval

That was my shit.

It's been mentioned several times, but Mayor of Kingstown is off the damn hook....

I am trying to find some more good shows myself esp. on Apple TV (don't know what took me so long to get that joint).
Finishing up the Foundation and watched a few episodes of Invasion...

Not having to work a part time job anymore on the weekends has really freed up more time to watch some good shows...
