Oh I understand now and yes, it’s fair to question that. Ashkenazi DNA has always been in contention, while some of the DNA does prove them to be one of the 12 lost tribes of Israel, sharing similar haplo types with Palestinians, Iraqi’s, Central Asians etc, others like yourself, question their validity which makes sense. I can’t speak on that but I’d take a stab and say they are Bnai Israel, if only slightly.
I digress.
Moving on, I’ve stated in this thread that Jewish culture was always about returning to Israel to rebuild it as their paradise. That’s what the “Mazel Tov…” and breaking of the glass at weddings signify.
Keeping that in mind throughout human history, the timeline breaks down as:
- Hebrew Jews descend from Caanan in 1800 BC
- Expelled from Judea and Samaria (Israel) by the Romans in the Middle Ages
- The 12 tribes of Am Israel Jews flee to neighboring Europe, Africa, and all points between
- Lived for a quite some time until they wore out their welcome. Expelled from England in 1290, following subsequent departures from Portugal, Spain and others in the 1400’s; Germany and Italy in the 1500-1600’s
- In the late 1800’s, Theodor Herzl puts in place the already embedded concept within Jewish Culture and calls it Zionism; the right for Jews to self determine on their own land
- 1917 The Balfour Declaration and the British Mandate are born declaring the right for Jews to self determine once again in the Middle East
- Two decades later, Hitler condemns the Jews to the Holocaust, which exacerbates the process of having their own Jewish nation
- 1948: Once into law, the process begins of importing ALL Jews, back to their homeland to self determine and also begins the arduous process of once again cohabiting with the Arabs and Christians in Israel
@DC_Dude Hope it helps. The answers you seek are in this thread.
